Michael and Sasha 2.0, Here We Go! General Hospital Two Scoops for the week of June 2, 2025

General Hospital continued to soap this week in the soapiest of ways. Sasha gave birth to Michael's baby on the courtroom floor in the middle of his divorce hearing, with estranged wife Willow delivering the little girl just moments after her paternity was revealed. Seriously, does it get more soapy than that? Like, what just happened?

Misha 2.0 just happened

GH also remembered that Sasha never really got over Michael. She turned to drugs to get over her breakup with him, which happened solely because Sasha was self-sacrificing and wanted Michael to win custody of Wiley from Nelle. GH also remembered that Michael was willing to forgive and stay with Sasha even after learning she had been conning Nina into believing she was her daughter. Now, that's devotion and love.

Michael and Willow never really made any sense. They married the first time for Wiley's sake, but when they got together for real, she was already married to Chase. There was something very icky about them that never really seemed like a love story. Having Michael turn to Sasha last year when she saw his marriage falling apart was the right move. Then, it seems GH was thrown a curveball when Chad Duell announced his decision to exit the show. Sasha was already pregnant, GH very wisely decided not to have Sasha lose another child, and the show needed a solution.

Jason became the baby daddy solution for a bit, but for the first time in a long time, GH realized something just didn't work and ended it quickly. For the last several years, we have been watching a very stubborn soap that refuses to give up on bad ideas even when the audience is begging.

Now, we have a new Michael who seems to have chemistry with everyone on the soap, but who especially has chemistry to spare with Sasha. Rarely does a soap strike instant chemistry gold like this. It's not even been two weeks since NuMichael and Sasha first set eyes on each other, but they are already the couple to root for.

How heartwarming was it to watch Michael and Sasha in awe of their little Daisy after months of being apart, and Michael thinking he would never be a part of his child's life? They already looked like a family, with Willow the odd woman out thanks to her enormously poor choices (to put it mildly). However, Sasha's giant preemie reminds us of Esme's giant preemie and Willow's giant preemie from 2023. We can't help but laugh as these "newborns" look like they are about to crawl right out of the isolette.

What about Willow?

Meanwhile, Willow is still mooning over Drew, a man who has been manipulating her for months, has threatened multiple other women, and set up his own elderly aunt to take a fall for a crime she didn't commit. Let's also not forget his quest to demolish the building where his own father, grandparents, and son were interned just to be petty.

Not only that, but she is now totally smug and absolutely positive she will win sole custody of her children because Michael cheated first. However, Willow still cheated without knowing Michael cheated. And Michael only cheated after learning that Drew and Willow kissed multiple times. Two wrongs don't make a right, but that also doesn't make Willow an automatic winner in this custody battle.

At least Michael and Sasha look like they have found some happiness. May karma come for Willow big time, despite what she did for Sasha in the courtroom, something any medical professional would and should do.

Oh, Nina

Just because everything seemed to work out for Michael and Sasha in the end, doesn't mean that Nina was right to sell out Sasha like that. Some fans believed that Ava told Ric the truth, but it was pretty clear it was Nina from the start. The look of pain on her face when Ric questioned Sasha said it all. She knew what she had done was wrong, but she did it anyway. When she chastised Ric for how he handled his questioning, we knew Nina had done a bad, bad thing.

Sasha was like a daughter to her for years and a much more loyal daughter than Willow had ever been. When Willow first learned that Nina was her mother and rejected her so cruelly, Sasha was the one who went to bat for Nina, risking her longstanding friendship with Willow. Oddly enough, GH decided that Nina should confess, and Sasha would barely be angry. It felt like a bit of a letdown cause this story could have gotten much soapier, but at least Nina is out of the doghouse in our eyes, and Sasha is so happy to finally be a mom, she doesn't much care what Nina did. Okay, we guess.

Phew, glad that's over

In the same way that GH realized that Jason and Sasha were never going to work, the show also gave up on Lucky and Elizabeth, and we couldn't be happier. While there's no word on whether Jonathan Jackson chose to leave GH less than a year after his long-awaited return, this latest iteration of Lucky and Liz is over and done.

Since their first scenes together last fall, we have been saying that they just don't work anymore. They offered us a perfect teen romance in the 1990s, but they are two adults in their late 40s now, and one character has grown and matured, while the other has not. Lucky and Liz just don't fit.

Of course, their breakup gave us whiplash. First, were they even really together? They shared a few kisses, with their first one being when Guy Wilson was playing Lucky, but that was about it. He was only living with her to care for her while her leg was in a cast. And then, he proposed, she said no, he said sure, leaving town any day now, and that was that. Alrighty then.

(Psst...Jason is still single now, too. Maybe it will FINALLY happen for us Liason fans, but we won't hold our collective breath.)

Brook Lynn brings out the Brooklyn

Brook Lynn was still on a tear this week, holding absolutely nothing back after being lied to for two decades. Brook Lynn didn't care if she was talking to her mother and grandmother. She'd had it with both of them and their myriad excuses for why they took her baby and hid him in plain sight when she had asked for a closed adoption. They not telling her that Gio was her son, even after Camilla died and he needed a mother, was beyond the pale for her. Brook Lynn read both women for filth and then sent them out the back door with Lois still wearing her Nurses' Ball attire.

But, Brook Lynn wasn't done. She went after Lulu next and deservedly so. Lulu didn't even try to make too many excuses for herself, which was a bit of a surprise. She admitted that she never meant to hurt anyone, but she couldn't stay out of Brook Lynn's way or her own. Now, Gio hates everyone, the Cerullos were banished to Brooklyn, and Dante wants nothing at all to do with her. Good job, Lulu.

Our darling Gio

Surprisingly, Gio decided that a trip to Canada to get away from his trouble was pointless, so he returned to Port Charles to get his things and...go to work. No, seriously. Where is Gio even staying? He packed some clothing and then resumed his job as the Metro Court poolboy, a gig he had last summer. Does this mean he gets a free MC room? Is that where he will live now?

We feel this week needed more of his angsty point of view and not his relatively well-adjusted attitude. He even did Grandpa Sonny (yes, Sonny got two new grandchildren all in one week) a solid when she knocked Ezra Boyle into the pool. Still, what we really want to see are some one-on-one emotional scenes between Gio and Brook Lynn. Get working on that, GH.

Odds and ends

Molly and Cody bonded by the pool | Image: ABC

The pool is open for business again, which means we will see people who should have pools on their big estates dropping in. There will be business meetings, late-night chat sessions when nobody else is around (see Molly and Cody), and undoubtedly some game-changing calamity, or it wouldn't be the Metro Court pool.

Do we really care about Natalia's drunk driving escapade and her one phone call? We had not seen the character in weeks and weren't complaining. Now that she is not spending her life trying to please Sonny, it turns out that she is as annoying and unself-aware as ever.

Josslyn's still a super spy, guys. She's playing a wide-eyed college student eager to please her professor. Meanwhile, Emma is playing a daring college student using her bikini-clad body to cozy up to her professor and get the goods on whatever nefarious thing he is up to. Which one is going to end up in more trouble as they both play with fire? At least the pool can put the fire out.
