General Hospital’s Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) has had to navigate learning that Lulu (Alexa Havins) didn’t actually give birth to him. Britt Westbourne, played by the returning Kelly Thiebaud, had stolen Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu’s frozen embryo and carried Rocco to term. Everyone believes Britt is dead, but Rocco still wants to learn about his tumultuous origin. Carr opened up about working with some of the show’s iconic actors and explained what he’s learned from them.
Rocco’s bold moves
General Hospital star Finn Carr sat down with Soap Opera Digest to discuss his journey as Rocco so far. Rocco’s journey to find out more about Britt and her family led him to Jason (Steve Burton). He explained that he was excited to get to share scenes with Burton, stating, “He’s such a great guy, an awesome guy, and a very talented actor.” He felt happy that they were able to bring tremendous emotions to their complex scenes, noting, “It was really cool to be able to play off of him and have more serious scenes with him.” The actor was very proud of how those scenes came out.
In his journey of discovery, Rocco reached out to Britt’s mother, Liesl (Kathleen Gati), to find out more about Britt. However, Dante and Lulu freaked out when they saw him talking to the former mad scientist and forbade him from having contact with her. Frustrated, Rocco went to his other grandmother, Laura (Genie Francis), to unload his frustrations and get her to talk some sense into Lulu. Carr gushed about working with Francis, noting that, “There’s this sort of special thing that happens when I get to do scenes with her.”
Rocco’s anchor

The young General Hospital actor further explained that in working on a soap requires dialing into emotions as well as learning a great deal of dialogue. But for him, working with Francis is a dream because when he’s sharing scenes with her, “The emotions just come out; you don’t have to try, you can just act, and it’s really nice.” He noted that with Francis as a scene partner, he doesn’t have to focus on his lines or worry about what emotion to release; their connection just grows organically.
The big thing is that with her, he’s able to take time in discovering how he needs to react. “I’m always discovering a lot,” he remarked. Carr noted that if anyone wanted to understand what Rocco is going through, they just need to see his scenes with Francis, “because I think he is the most open and honest with her.” It’s like Francis grounds Carr, making Laura like Rocco’s anchor.
General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
