Not even a year after returning to his old stomping grounds at General Hospital, Jonathan Jackson is on his way out again.
General Hospital and Jonathan Jackson part ways

The writing was very clearly on the wall with the June 5, 2025, episode when Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) turned down Lucky's marriage proposal and Lucky admitted that he was a restless soul who would never be happy living in Port Charles full time. He asked Liz to travel the world with him, but she didn't want to leave her life and her home.
According to TV Insider, Jackson and Lucky will leave the scene next week, but that doesn't mean that they won't be back again someday.
"We were so glad Jonathan was able to reprise the role of Lucky, even if was for a limited time," Executive Producer Frank Valentini said. "We wish him nothing but the best, and the door is always open for Jonathan to return."
When news of Jackson's return broke early last summer, he told TV Insider he was looking forward to what this comeback had to offer.
"When I came back in 2015, that was just for a few episodes for Tony [Geary’s] exit and this is not that," he said at the time. "This is back in a substantial, real way, which I’m excited about."
Lucky's latest Port Charles stint

One thing Jackson was looking forward to was working with on-screen mom Genie Francis (Laura Collins) again, which he certainly got to do.
"Working with Genie [Francis] was a big personal incentive to come back, because when I was there in 2010, 2011, Genie wasn’t on the show and I always kind of felt like I missed out on working with her as an adult, so I’m very excited about that, obviously," Jackson noted to TV Insider last year.
Lucky returned to the Port Charles scene to be a liver donor for his sister, Lulu (Alexa Havins). Unfortunately, Lucky's liver wasn't suitable for donation, but Lulu got her liver anyway, thanks to Sam (Kelly Monaco).
Since then, Lucky has been tending bar and growing closer to Elizabeth, but did not have a big story until he started covering for Krazy Kristina's (Kate Mansi) (almost) murderous ways. He learned she cut the brakes on Ric's (Rick Hearst) car and decided to protect her, earning the ire of many fans.
Now, he has had to face some hard facts about himself, but it looks like Lucky and Jackson will be leaving on good terms, so there is no telling what the future might hold.
