General Hospital’s Kelly Thiebaud has the inside scoop on the big ‘JaBritt’ reunion

For the first time in almost four years, General Hospital's Jason Morgan and Britt Westbourne are about to lay eyes on one another. They have both been presumed dead at different points since 2021, but now Jason and Britt are alive and well — and at the same resort in Croatia.

The General Hospital reunion that's a long time coming

The last time Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) laid eyes on one another, he had just rescued Britt's mother from Victor Cassadine's (Charles Shaughnessy) clutches on Cassadine Island. They were in the tunnels under Victor's compound when the tunnels caved in, and Jason was presumed dead.

On New Year's Eve, as 2022 became 2023, Britt performed a daring rescue when she saved Josslyn from Heather Webber's (Alley Mills) poison hook, but the hook nicked Britt, leading to her alleged demise.

Last month, Jason thought he spotted Britt in a French airport and then heard her voice in the background when he called the Five Poppies resort. Now, Jason is headed to the resort to see if he can find the woman he was falling in love with before fate stepped in the way.

A JaBritt reboot

Many fans have felt that Jason and Britt were never really given a chance when they first got together. However, they are ready to see what they do now after they finally come face-to-face on August 15. Kelly Thiebaud, who is happy to be making her return as Britt, is also happy to reunite with Steve Burton's Jason.

"That was really exciting to me to get to do that very small scene with him, knowing where we were going [storyline-wise] and getting the chance to do this with him again," Thiebaud told Soap Opera Digest. "He’s just such a great guy, a stand-up guy, and I absolutely just feel honored to get to work with him."

That scene aired weeks ago and sent Jason on a journey that led him to Britt and the Five Poppies. When they finally do set eyes on one another, expect it to pull at your heartstrings.

"There are a lot of feelings that it brings up," Thiebaud said. "There are some angry moments, some soft moments…It’s really complicated!"

Despite all those complicated feelings, Thiebaud is ready for whatever her General Hospital future holds.

"I’m just really excited for the journey ahead," she added. "I think it’s going to be a really incredible time on the show with Steve."
