General Hospital actress Bluesy Burke is settling in nicely as Charlotte Cassadine, Lulu and Valentin's daughter. Now, the actress is revealing what it's been like to join the long-running ABC soap opera.
Bluesy Burke, General Hospital

Burke got her start in show business doing commercials. She moved to New York when she was about 13 to focus on school, taking a break from work for a bit. In 2024, she ventured back into acting, landing a role in a movie titled Stone Cold Fox, which is due out on Friday, November 7.
The feature stars Keifer Sutherland (24) and Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men). Bluesy plays the character Spooky. The film tells the story of a woman named Fox (Kiernan Shipka), who breaks out of an abusive commune in search of her family. The movie is set in the year 1986. Burke enjoyed that so much, she continued to audition and soon read for GH, and was cast in the role of Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Valentin's (James Patrick Stuart) daughter.
"I auditioned and I didn’t think much of it,” she told Soap Opera Digest. A few months later, she recalls getting a callback for the part. A week later, she found out she'd gotten the job.

Burke read up on Charlotte on the Internet so she'd be prepared to play the part that has a lot of history in Port Charles in her relatively short life. Understandably, she had some first-day jitters, but they went away thanks to supportive co-stars like Havins.
"Pretty much from the get-go, Alexa has just been such a sweet, caring person," says Burke. "She’s always trying to make sure that everyone, but especially me and Finn [Carr, Rocco], are really comfortable, and I’ve always felt very comfortable around her, from the very beginning, from doing my first scenes with her."
While her nerves have calmed, the actress thinks that those feelings will never leave her fully. "I always get a little bit of a turn in my stomach whenever I walk on the set, just because I am overall a little bit of a nervous person," she says. "But I think I’m slowly starting to come into the role and discovering new things about Charlotte, which has really helped me come into the role, and hopefully that shows.”
