It’s been quite a while since Nathan West has been mentioned on General Hospital. Shot dead by his own father, the international super criminal Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), the good police officer was no more. His namesake lives on in the form of his son, James (Gary James Fuller). But while fans wonder if we’ll ever get to see Nathan again, his portrayer, Ryan Paevey, keeps in constant contact with them through social media and recently questioned whether he belonged in this century or not.
The wrong century
On Instagram, Paevey shared a photo of an old truck and captioned it, “I was definitely born in the wrong decade. Maybe the wrong century. Who knows…haha.” The truck is a sweet Chevrolet C/K pickup, presumably from somewhere between 1964 and 1966. It has a distinctive twin-headlight design that is stacked horizontally, as well as having a bold front grill with the Chevy emblem on it. On the side is also a ‘10’ series emblem, which could mean that the truck is the half-ton style.
@mariagrazia_mtl totally got where he was coming from, and commented, “I think you know this guy, Charles Whitley, [who] time-traveled way into the future. He would have loved the era of the Rabbit 🛻The Rabbit is a reflection of the old soul in you.” The pic brought up lots of memories from the former General Hospital star’s followers, with @toniandersondumas responding, “We drove one like that in high school, cruised the local drag in it too! Luckily my dad liked cool rides. I still have the 1966 Chrysler Newport convertible that I drove in high school, it is my Sol mate ;-).”
Another fan, @vintagefinds_gta, excitedly remarked how they identified with his post, writing, “I always say I wish I’d been born in the 50s. The music, the cars, the festivals. 🥰.”
He resembles an iconic star

When @gracesiem22 commented, “Or reincarnated 🤔😊,” @a_week_of_fridays replied, “@gracesiem22 Honestly, he looks a lot like the late Guy Williams (Zorro). I kinda da smile when I think, ‘Hey, it could be him and he came back as Ryan.’ 😉🤭😘.” Guy Williams, of course, didn’t just play Zorro, he was also Professor John Robinson on the classic sci-fi series, Lost in Space, and the fan’s assessment is not wrong. Paevey definitely bears a passing resemblance to the late star.
@lvmotochef responded to the General Hospital alum’s post with, “Same. Mine was in the 50's with a '55 Bel Air and Jazz. Rabbit looks really good.” And @lreeves1946 shared the highest praise with her reaction, “I’m sure glad you were born when you were. Just think we would have missed the most handsome, sweetest guy ever‼️❤️🥰😍❤️.”
