On General Hospital, the mystery behind who shot corrupt congressman Drew Cain and left him for dead has been a major story on the show for the past two months. On November 20th, the showrunners teased that the answer to the whodunnit could be coming in the near future.

Several General Hospital characters wanted to kill Drew

On the official General Hospital social media accounts, the show shared a video of several cast members talking about the mystery. The actors represent most of the characters who have been considered to be suspects by the Port Charles Police Department, including Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), who is currently out on bail awaiting trial for the shooting.

Drew Cain himself, Cameron Mathison, introduced the video, which had the actors playing a game of telephone with each other. They filmed separate videos of themselves talking about the case before handing the “phone” back to Mathison at the end. He told the audience to stay tuned to General Hospital to find out “who shot Drew?”

In addition to Mathison and MacMullen, the other actors included were Rory Gibson (Michael Corinthos), Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves), Donnell Turner (Curtis Ashford) and Brook Kerr (Dr. Portia Robinson). They briefly described their characters’ involvement in the plot.

Drew called Willow the love of his life, and passed the phone to her portrayer. MacMullen passed the phone to Gibson, reminding viewers that Michael has framed Willow and taken custody of their kids. Gibson passed the phone to Wright, saying that Michael’s mother often goes to extremes to protect him.

Wright passed the phone to Watros, saying that Nina threw Willow under the bus when she recanted Willow’s alibi for that night. Watros passed the phone to Turner, as Nina blames Curtis for exposing Nina’s affair with Drew. Truner passed the phone to Kerr, reminding viewers that Portia let Drew blackmail him for months and came between their marriage.

When Kerr got the “phone,” she slyly told the audience that Drew deserved to be shot, a feeling that many General Hospital fans have had as the congressman has somehow managed to be even nastier and more corrupt since he nearly died.

Drew is as bad as ever

Since being shot, Drew has been plotting to frame Michael for his shooting. He also came this close to buying the Quartermaine mansion and evicting everyone in the family. Then, he stole all the boxes of Q memorabilia that Tracy (Jane Elliot) had been storing in Lulu’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) house, which led to a heated argument with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) that landed him in General Hospital with a heart attack.

In addition to not getting the Quartermaine estate, Drew took another loss on the November 19th episode, when his corrupt political pal Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) lost the mayoral election to Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Drew had been taunting Laura about losing the election during the episode, and ended the episode in shock.
