Good news for fans of General Hospital's William Lipton (Cameron Webber). Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Lipton will be back on-screen next week when friends and family gather to say goodbye to Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), who is presumed drowned after a deadly encounter with bad girl Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) in Paris.
The last time that GH viewers saw Lipton was in March 2023 when Cameron bid farewell to Port Charles and headed to Stanford University in California, thanks to a soccer scholar scholarship. During the recent Christmas holidays, viewers learned during a conversation between Cameron's mom, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), and his youngest brother, Aiden Spencer (Enzo De Angleis), that Cameron is not only thriving at Stanford, but he also has a new love interest.
Lipton took over the role of Elizabeth's eldest son in 2018. During his time on the show, Cameron watched his best friend Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) fall in love with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) -- the girl that Cameron had a crush on. Tragically, the relationship between Oscar and Josslyn ended in heartbreak when Oscar succumbed to brain cancer. Cameron also had a rocky relationship with his stepfather Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) that reached a turning point when Franco sacrificed himself to save Cameron from the evil intentions of a cult leader named Shiloh. After Franco was murdered by Peter August (Wes Ramsey), Cameron spiraled for a bit, but he eventually found love with Josslyn.
Unfortunately, Cameron's relationship with Josslyn began to fall apart when Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) recorded Cameron and Josslyn's first time together and posted the intimate encounter on the Internet to frame their close friend Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) for the revenge porn. Things didn't improve when Josslyn met a young man named Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), who promptly swept her off her feet. Cameron's scholarship arrived in time to give the brokenhearted teen a fresh start in a new state.
Lipton always planned to return to GH. When he exited in March 2023, he shared a photo from his last day on set on his Instagram stories along with the message, "Cameron will be back before you know it!"
Be sure to tune in next week to see Lipton bring Cameron home.
