General Hospital's Alexis was tasked with informing her former sister-in-law Ava that Ava's big sister Olivia Jerome had been killed. Ava didn't seem to care one way or the other, but Anna knows that Olivia's murder is probably part of a much bigger story. So, how did Olivia end up behind bars, and what did Anna have to do with her plight?
Believe it or not, Olivia Jerome has been dead once before. The character, played by Tonja Walker, was first killed back in 1990 by none other than her brother Julian (then played by Jason Culp, later played by William de Vry) after Olivia caused Anna to miscarry Duke's baby. But in 2017, we learned that Olivia was indeed alive and back in Port Charles, blackmailing Julian to do her dirty work.
Still obsessed with the now-dead Duke, Olivia decided she would try to bring him back to life in an underground hospital lab. She kidnapped both Robin Scorpio and Duke's son, Dr. Griffin Munro, to make that happen. Thankfully, Anna found them and rescued her daughter and would-be stepson.
It was also Olivia who planted the bomb in Julian's car, resulting in Morgan Corinthos' death. Morgan had been acting erratically after Ava switched his bipolar medications with placebos, and he stole Julian's car, leading to an explosion and Morgan's demise (although a body was never found).
After Anna rescued Robin and Griffin, Olivia escaped and came across Carly at Morgan's grave. Carly tried to kill Olivia as payback for Olivia taking her son's life, but Sonny managed to talk Carly down from the ledge. Before Olivia was carted away, Sonny warned her that he'd get revenge on her for killing Morgan -- one day.
Has that day finally come, or is someone else trying to kill a slew of Port Charles mobsters? The last we heard about Olivia, fellow inmate Cyrus warned Laura that if an arrested Anna ended up in Pentonville, Olivia would do her in. Now, Anna knows that it's Olivia who was killed instead, and Anna is determined to find out who pulled the trigger.
Is the person who killed Olivia the same person who fired shots at Sonny and Ava when they were in Puerto Rico, or is there another mob threat in town we have yet to learn about? Something tells us that Jason Morgan and his imminent return might have something to do with all of this.
