Tabyana Ali is ready to see what's in store for General Hospital's Trina as she faces life alone.

When Spencer Cassadine plunged into the Seine in January, General Hospital fans had hoped that wasn't the end of the couple known as "Sprina." Tabyana Ali was remaining with the soap, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez was taking a leave of absence to film the Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Now, Chavez has confirmed he will not be returning to GH, so where does that leave Trina?

After Chavez posted a heartfelt goodbye to GH and its fans on social media on Friday, May 3, Ali addressed her co-star's departure.

"It was great creating Sprina together with him," Ali told Soap Opera Digest. "I want the best for him and all of his endeavors and I hope that we will get the chance to work together again someday. I also want to show my gratitude to Sprina Nation as well."

On the May 3 GH episode, Trina told her best friend Josslyn that while she will always love and miss Spencer, she is ready to figure out what her next act will be. Ali has some ideas on that subject that could take her character in a whole other direction.

"It might be a long shot, but I really wanted [her] to turn into some cool, edgy, if I can say -- excuse my French -- badass," Ali said. "I want her to just be...just cool, to have another side of her," she continued. "I think she's such a kind person. I would like her to have a vendetta story or a revenge story. Or the love of her life is gone and now she just turned evil a little bit. But I don't know how much that would be possible. She's such a kind-hearted person at her core."

After Spencer's presumed death, Trina decided to give up on school for at least a semester but has also thrown herself into her work at Ava's art gallery as a distraction from her grief. Could a new love be on the horizon for this feisty young character who has captured the hearts of the audience, or will she be going solo for a while as she navigates her way through life without the boy she loved? Time will tell.

Would you like to Spencer recast so there is more Sprina? Should Trina have a new love interest soon? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
