"And I think I know what those at least feel like": Miley Cyrus opens up about her upcoming album, which may feature 12 tracks

Miley Cyrus released her Something Beautiful music album and visual film over the last two weeks. The music album was released on May 30, 2025, and the visual film first premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 6, 2025. It will be available in the theaters from June 12 onwards. Even though Miley Cyrus has just released new music, she is already working on her next album.

Miley had already mentioned her plans for another album during her album release party, which TikTok hosted at Chateau Marmont. According to Miley, Something Beautiful is "the appetizer," and that the new album she is currently working on is "extremely experimental."

Right before the premiere of the visual film, Miley chatted with The Hollywood Reporter and shared a little more information about the new album. She mentioned that the upcoming album would probably have 12 tracks in total. She also said:

"And I think I know what those at least feel like and that’s what I started out with this album too where it wasn’t necessarily about the sound first or even the look or the vision — it’s what it makes you feel like...So I feel that I somewhat know what that is."

During previous interviews, Miley Cyrus mentioned how she felt while making Something Beautiful. She was under a lot of "pressure." Cyrus wanted the upcoming album to be more "about the music" than anything else.

She continued:

"For me, personally, it would just be the fulfillment of always making the thing that’s real and right in that moment but I think it’ll also come without the pressure that I’ve put on myself for almost the past two decades of my career... I really want to do something that doesn’t have that sort of power over me and is just really about the music."

While Miley's upcoming album is in the works, she has not revealed the title or any other hints, except for the fact that it might contain 12 tracks, and it will be extremely experimental and different from what she has done in the past.

Miley Cyrus' ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, is available for streaming on different platforms. However, you will have to wait a few more days before the visual film is made available in theaters. For US citizens, it will be released on June 12, while for international fans, the film will be made available on June 27, 2025.
