Miley Cyrus premiered her visual album, Something Beautiful, to a packed audience at New York’s Beacon Theatre during the 2025 Tribeca Festival — but the night didn’t unfold without a few bumps.

While the screening drew cheers and sing-alongs from much of the crowd, the post-film Q&A took a turn when several attendees interrupted with demands for a live performance.

“We thought this was a concert.”
“We paid $800.”
“Are you actually going to sing?!”

The last question was met with a mix of laughter and applause, briefly throwing Cyrus off guard.

Still, she responded with grace and a surprise: she launched into an a cappella version of her 2009 hit, “The Climb.”

Despite the moment’s viral appeal, not everyone in the fandom was amused. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice frustration over the interruptions.

“this actually pissed me off so bad.. how dare you disrespect MILEY CYRUS at her own event bc YOU didn't read what you were buying a ticket for?? she has no obligation to entertain you ungrateful f**ks,” one post read.
“She sang it because folks in the audience were screaming at her to sing! So f**king rude!!!” another user added.

Others, meanwhile, were quick to praise Cyrus’ vocals and the track itself.

"Miley looks and sounds amazing," a fan gushed.
"Shorty singing like that sitting down. That's wild," said another commenter.
"One of the best songs ever created," a user echoed.

Miley Cyrus on Naomi Campbell’s participation in “Something Beautiful”

Supermodel and cultural icon Naomi Campbell adds her signature poise and power to Something Beautiful, Cyrus’ latest visual album.

Campbell appears during the track “Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved,” walking alongside Miley Cyrus in a striking warehouse scene. The visuals echo George Michael’s Freedom, a nod not lost on fans, as Campbell famously featured in that music video over three decades ago.

During the Q&A, Miley Cyrus revealed:

“She’s actually wearing my [Thierry] Mugler [clothes] in that video. I said, ‘I don’t share fashion with my friends unless they’re Naomi.’”

Miley Cyrus recalled how seamless the collaboration had been, noting the model’s readiness and artistry in the recording process.

“When Naomi wants to do something, just like myself or any artist, they make it happen. They do it. There was never a time that there was any difficulties for us getting together in the same room, cutting these vocals. It was always something that felt effortless and easy.”

The partnership went beyond visuals. Campbell recorded her verse for the track — no revisions needed.

“She had no notes. I did not believe them when they said she’s already cut her verse, and it was better than I ever could imagine.”

According to the “Angels Like You” songstress, the lyrics were written with Campbell specifically in mind.

“We were really trying to embody her essence, which is just the ultimate grace, power and beauty and legacy. Truly, she really is one of our living legends.”

The conversations extended off-camera as well.

“To get to spend [time] talking to her and talking to her about fashion in the ‘90s and where she is now as a mother and watching that evolution has been extremely inspiring for me.”

The Something Beautiful visual album hits theaters across North America on June 12 for a one-night screening, followed by an international rollout on June 27.

Meanwhile, the album was released on Friday, June 6.
