Cardi B to drop new single ‘Imaginary Players’ this Friday: All the details you need

Cardi B’s long-awaited second album, Am I Drama, has another single on the way. The Grammy-award-winning rapper announced via her Instagram account on August 11, 2025.

The album’s second single, Imaginary Players, drops on Friday, August 15, 2025. Cardi’s Instagram post was an image of herself dressed in a white fur coat, bodysuit, and nude heeled boots.

Her pink hair and bold makeup added color to her ensemble. The rapper captioned the post:

"iamcardib Just a lil taste of the drama. IMAGINARY PLAYERS THIS FRIDAY. Pre-Save with the album.. link in bio.”

The first track on the Am I the Drama album, Outside, dropped on June 20, 2025. It was the rapper’s first single since Enough in 2024. The hip-hop track was written by Cardi B and produced by Charlie Heat, DJ SwanQo, and HeyMicki.

In Outside Cardi B talks about independence and declares that she would not settle for a man who doesn’t treat her right. The song is presumed to be a dig at her estranged husband.

The chorus reads:

"(I'm goin' out), on the pop-out (Side), 'cause it's hot out/ (I'm goin' out), you was playin' gamеs (Side), now you on timeout/ (I'm goin' out), wherе the fine ni**as?/ (Side), I'm tryna find ni**as(Out)/ I been cuffed up too long (Side), let me remind ni**as (Yeah)"

Outside became Cardi B’s thirteenth hit to rank on the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten, debuting at number ten. The fast-paced track is also the third track from Am I Drama to feature in the top ten.

Am I the Drama is the New York City-born artist’s first full-length project since the critically acclaimed Invasion of Privacy in 2018. IoP won Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards and became the first album by a female rapper to have all the songs certified platinum or more.

The rapper revealed that two of her hit tracks will make it to the album. She wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"WAP and Up are two of my biggest songs… my fans have been asking me to put them on an album… they deserve a home.”
