Coldplay and BTS teamed up in 2021 for My Universe. Four years later, the track is still loved by fans worldwide. This week, the song hit a significant milestone and surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.

This achievement is the second BTS group song to cross the streaming mark. It follows Dynamite, which earlier became the band's first track to cross the 1.5 billion Spotify mark. For Coldplay, the song is one of the most-streamed tracks from their 2021 album, Music of the Spheres.

My Universe was released in September 2021. The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and climbed to No. 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart. It was co-written and co-produced by members of both bands.

Fans congratulate BTS and Coldplay for their latest joint record

BTS Charts & Translations took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce that,

""My Universe" by Coldplay and BTS has surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, @BTS_twt's 2nd song to achieve this!"

Fans weighed in on the comment section of this post to congratulate both bands. Below are a couple of the remarks:

"Congratulations BTS Congratulations SIR COLDPLAY Congratulations COLDTAN", expressed a fan.
"I would love to see these two legendary groups Collab again", wished another.

More about the bands

Coldplay was formed in London in the late 1990s. Led by vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, the band includes Guy Berryman on bass, Will Champion handling drums, percussion, and Jonny Buckland on guitar. The band mainly rose to fame with their 2000 debut album, Parachutes, and the hit single, Yellow. They are known for tracks like Clocks, Fix You, and Viva La Vida.

BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan. The K-pop boy band debuted in South Korea in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The seven-member group comprises RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Their fans are known as ARMY. With multiple Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, including Dynamite and Butter, the band was the first Korean group to see mainstream success in the Western music industry.

The boy band members have also remained in the news for personal reasons other than music. According to a report by Korea JoongAng Daily recently, Big Hit Music reportedly confirmed that Jimin had dated actress Song Da-eun "many years ago." This matter was subject to many years of fan speculation.

On the other hand, as per The Chosun Daily, Jungkook recently spoke publicly on a live broadcast about a home intrusion incident and requested fans to respect boundaries. He warned of stronger measures against stalkers. He mentioned:

"I was watching everything on CCTV from my house. When I heard the police coming, they were trying to open the door and flee in a hurry from the underground parking lot. The person claimed to be my friend. Although ARMY, the BTS fandom, are all family and friends, it was regrettable. I am really grateful for the support, but that's not how it is done."

He then warned,

"If you come looking, I will lock you up. Since everything is recorded, evidence will be secured, and you will just be taken away. If you step into our house's parking lot, you will not get out. You will be trapped unless I open the door. If you don't want to go to the police station, don't come at all."
