On Sunday, June 8, 2025, country musician Conner Smith aged 24, had a tragic car accident in Nashville. A senior pedestrian lost their life in the accident. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. in the Germantown area near 3rd Avenue North and Van Buren Street.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported that Conner Smith was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when he hit 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins, while she was in a marked crosswalk. Paramedics took Dobbins to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where doctors confirmed she had passed away.

Officers at the scene observed no evidence suggesting Smith was impaired. They determined he was not under the influence or distracted during the incident. Initial reports indicate Conner Smith did not yield the right of way as Dobbins was crossing the street, which appears to be the main reason for the crash.

Authorities have not filed any charges yet, and the case is still under investigation. Police stated they are continuing to collect evidence and go over the details.

Worrick G. Robinson, who is Conner Smith’s lawyer, released a statement sharing both sympathy and a readiness to cooperate.

“On June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life. His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins’ family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.”
