Doja Cat has officially released her fifth studio album, Vie, on September 26, 2025. With this latest record, Doja Cat has shifted back toward pop after her rap-heavy 2023 project, Scarlet. Vie is somewhat romantic. It is featured with 1980s nostalgia, neon synths, saxophones, and retro drum machines. The album is produced by Jack Antonoff.
The project spans 15 tracks. Its lyrics explore themes of love, vulnerability, and self-reflection. Its lead single, "Jealous Type," debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Spotify's biggest female rap debut of 2025. The album also features one collaboration with SZA on "Take Me Dancing." Moreover, with the release, Doja Cat will launch her Ma Vie World Tour across Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Below is a ranking of every track on Vie, from best to worst. Read on to get an insight into each song of Doja Cat's latest project.

Doja Cat's 'Vie': Every song ranked from best to worst
1. Jealous Type
The album’s strongest track and quintessentially Doja Cat. The Minneapolis-style funk groove recalls Prince. However, the lyrics confess jealousy and insecurity. It is cheeky and catchy. The track is balanced between her rapping and singing. Some of its lines are:
"He loves me/ But he can’t hold this above me/ When my eyes are green, I'm ugly/ You're vain and hip to rushing/ I'm so overtired"
2. Take Me Dancing
Antonoff's synths and snares have created a disco-pop anthem. Doja rocks here with her vocals. It is breezy and hence perfect for summer playlists. The chorus is also addictive. The track is one of Vie's effortlessly fun songs. Lyrics include:
"Left, right, bend, slide/ Hips, waist, spin, hold it/ Tick, tick, tick (Are you ready?)/ More body, less mind/ Left, right, bend, slide"
3. Gorgeous
"If they wasn't grillin' before /They gon' be really mad when we hit the floor/ It's a crime to be gorgeous"
"Gorgeous" slows things down for a power ballad. With notable samples and synths, it features Doja Cat's more sentimental side. Her vocals are the strongest among the Vie tracks here. It is heartfelt and relatively cinematic.
4. Cards
Cards is the opener of Vie. It comes with a moody tone. Doja sings about taking a chance on love. She sings,
"Maybe I'll fall in love baby / Maybe we'll win some hearts / Gotta just play your cards"
As an opener, the track sounds confident.
5. One More Time
The track is one of the record's most emotional anthems. "One More Time" is Doja Cat singing about another shot at a failing relationship. Her voice here has a mix of desperation and tenderness. This one is a seemingly vulnerable turn on Vie. Lyrics include:
"It's never easy / We're willingly uncomfortable/ I want you to teach me/ We're both feeling unlovable/ We gotta learn to unlearn it"
6. All Mine
This track is romantic and features airy textures with a bass thump. The production is Prince-adjacent. A dimly lit room and a slow dance might go perfectly with the track! Doja Cat sings,
"How do you attract a man? What I mean is/ Suppose you set your heart on somebody / What would you do to get him?/ Grab him! And take him!"
7. Stranger
"Stranger" might not be the flashiest song in Vie. However, the groove and Doja's vocals are notable. The song stays with the listener for a bit after it ends. Fans might consider this an underrated gem. Some of its lines are as follows:
"Call me over to watch some White Lotus/ And after maybe we could rearrange the sofas/ I need a man with a sense of humor/ Beliefs aligned and zen like Buddha"
8. Aaahh Men!
Aaahh Men! is composed around a Knight Rider sample. The track playfully depicts frustration. Doja seemingly sounds exasperated as she sings about relationship woes. It might not be her deepest cut. However, it is a fun one.
9. Lipstain
Doja Cat sings,
"Let me rub my cheek on your suit/ I'm your woman, or as-tu oublié?/ You should want it tattooed on your collar bone/ Never wipe my look off on your face"
"Lipstain" finds Doja Cat slipping into French with the flirty "tu es ma vie" ("you are my life"). The R&B textures give out dreamy vibes. Nevertheless, the track feels like an interlude rather than a highlight.
10. Come Back
This one wraps up the album. "Come Back" sounds like it may fit well in the final scene of an '80s teen movie. It is hopeful and sentimental, however, not the boldest closer. Lyrics include:
"If we keep this up, and you hold my doors/ And you take my bag, and you hold me more/ I don't think that would make up for the hope I lost"
11. Happy
One of the simpler tracks of Doja Cat's latest album. In "Happy," Doja wishes for contentment. The track sounds repetitive. However, it has the singer's charm and smooth delivery. It is breezy, but not essential.
12. Silly! Fun!
This one has synth stabs, backing vocals, and lyrics that gush about first love. Fans may find it too corny. In this track, Doja tries to feature humor. However, her efforts are not the most effective here.
13. Acts of Service
Doja Cat references the love-language concept here. Acts of Service has a mellow R&B groove. The singer has taken a relatively low-key approach to the song. Some may find the track sweet, but it struggles to stand out. Lyrics include:
"Said, don't gotta ask to kiss me no more (No more)/ It's like parts of our soul ain't missing no more (No more)/ Yeah, love isn't to be measured, boy/ I don't wanna put much pressure on you"
14. Make It Up
This is perhaps the most forgettable cut of Vie. The production is generic. Doja Cat does not sound as engaged as she does elsewhere. The track feels like a filler compared to the other songs on the record. Here, Doja sings,
"Do you need somebody (Nuh-uh) who don't need nobody? (Uh-huh)/ Do you need this body? (Uh-huh) I don't see you hardly so/ I'ma ditch this party (Nuh-uh)"
15. Couples Therapy
Couples Therapy might divide fans. It is playful lyrically. However, the beats feel underdeveloped. Doja Cat's vocals also come off subdued. In the 15-track album, it is the easiest to skip. Some of the track's lyrics are:
"Thеy can hold that for you, that pain, that stress/ Let go all past worries, let's face it/ I wanna be the doctor and be the medication/ I can't, but I know I'm booking us a vacation to Cannes"
