On Monday, May 5, 2025, the renowned media page on X @PopCrave shared news about an upcoming album from the Ontario-born music icon Drake.

The post, which featured an image of the 38-year-old rapper, was captioned, "Drake confirms he’s “locked in” recording a new studio album."

The shared post on X stirred up mixed reactions from netizens, poking fun at Drake's statement "locked in" and questioning the authenticity of the quality of music he puts out.

A brief rundown on Drake's last solo studio album to his latest music project

The critically acclaimed "For All The Dogs" is Drake's last solo album, released on October 6, 2023, via Republic Records and the rapper's label, OVO Sound. The 23-track album peaked at number 1 on both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Canadian Albums. Debuting with over four hundred thousand sales in its first week, For All The Dogs became the best-selling rap album of 2023.

Following the commercial success of "For All The Dogs," a month later Drake released a deluxe version of the original, titled "Scary Hours 3." This deluxe edition consists of six tracks, including You Broke My Heart, Red Button, Evil Ways ft J.Cole, The Shoe Fits, Stories About My Brother, and Wick Man.

On February 14, 2025, Drizzy and the "Recognize" crooner, PartyNextDoor, released a joint album, "Some Sexy Songs 4 U", made up of twenty-one songs. This chart-topping album is Drake's most recent body of work and his 14th album to debut at number 1 on the Billboard 200.
