Travis Scott took to his Instagram Stories to call Tame Impala's newly released album, Deadbeat, "the best album to come out in the last two years." He tagged Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and wrote:

"This is the best album to come out in the last 2 years. Kev, you went crazy. Like super crazy. Like bruh. I am gonna call u soon 'cause I just need to know something bruhhhhhh. EVERYONE LISTEN, BUY, PLAY AND LIVE TO THIS."

Travis Scott and Tame Impala have collaborated before, including on "Skeletons" from Travis's Astroworld. In 2018, Kevin Parker described his experience working with Travis Scott. In an interview with Billboard, he recalled sessions that took place with "10 to 20 people in the room," and sound systems so loud that "your eardrums rattle."

Deadbeat was released on Friday, October 17, 2025, via Columbia Records. It is Tame Impala's fifth studio album, and his first since 2020's The Slow Rush. The record was developed between his Fremantle home base and his Injidup studio in Western Australia. One of the album's notable tracks, "My Old Ways," racked up over 2.5 million Spotify streams within 24 hours. It is his biggest streaming debut yet.
