Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo wrapped up Glastonbury Festival 2025 with a Sunday night set that delivered both high energy and heartfelt nostalgia.

Held annually at Worthy Farm in Somerset, this year’s festival featured major acts including The 1975, Neil Young with Chrome Hearts, Charli XCX, Gracie Abrams, and Noah Kahan. Olivia Rodrigo, 21, headlined the final night and made it unforgettable with a surprise appearance from Robert Smith of The Cure.

Midway through her set, the young star brought out the English rock legend to perform two of his band’s most beloved tracks: “Just Like Heaven” and “Friday, I’m in Love.”

Following their surprise duet, the “good 4 u” singer took to her Instagram to reflect on the performance.

“headlining Glastonbury was quite literally just like a dream. thank you especially to Robert Smith for playing two of my favorite songs of all time on stage with me last night. and also for writing on my t shirt backstage (I am keeping it forever).”

She went on:

“I am so grateful to everyone who came out and sang and jumped. A night I will never ever forget.”

Smith, 66, continues to leave a mark on today’s music scene. The Cure, formed in 1978, is known for its emotionally charged sound and Smith’s unmistakable aesthetic. The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 and remains a touchstone for artists across genres.

Olivia Rodrigo surprises BST Hyde Park crowd with Ed Sheeran duet

Olivia Rodrigo and Robert Smith’s surprise performance comes after the “deja vu” hitmaker brought out Ed Sheeran during her BST Hyde Park set in London on June 27.

Cheers erupted at the venue as the pair, each with a guitar in hand, performed a surprise acoustic duet of Sheeran’s breakout hit “The A Team.”

Olivia Rodrigo set the BST Hyde Park ablaze with fiery performances of her hits ahead of her Glastonbury Festival slot, but this unexpected collab gave fans an early headline-worthy moment.

After the dust had settled, Sheeran posted a video of the performance on Instagram, capturing the two artists harmonizing during the song’s chorus.

“Been a fan of Olivia’s since 'Drivers License' blew my mind back at the start of 2021. Both albums are no skips for me, I’m a proper fan. We first met at the rock and roll hall of fame back in 2022, sat next to each other with her mum and my dad and went on to hang and keep in touch from there.”

The “I See Fire” hitmaker also reflected on the emotional weight of the performance.

“Was gonna go watch the show anyway but she hit me and asked to sing 'The A Team' with her, which was such a buzz. That song turns 15 this year, and I remember playing it to rooms with no one in it in 2010, so to still be playing it to new fans with one of the brightest stars of the next generation is an honour and a privilege. Rock Glasto headline Sunday @oliviarodrigo, UK loves you x.”

Olivia Rodrigo responded in the comments the next day with gratitude:

“you are the best ever ed!!! appreciate you so much. last night was a blast.”

Ed Sheeran’s “The A Team,” released in 2011, was Sheeran’s debut U.S. hit and helped launch his global career. The track reached No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2012.

As a final nod to the moment, he dropped a bonus mashup on TikTok the next day: a short blend of “Perfect” and Rodrigo’s “Happier,” sung together.
