Cardi B has officially confirmed the release date and partial tracklist for her long-anticipated second album, Am I the Drama?. The rapper also revealed that the record will span 23 songs and include her past hits "WAP" and "Up," both of which were released several years ago.

Both tracks remain highly successful in streaming terms. “Up” has over 710 million streams on Spotify, while “WAP,” her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, has surpassed 1.4 billion, making it her second most-played song to date.

Alongside the announcement, Cardi B shared an Instagram teaser describing the album’s personal themes.

“Seven years, and the time has come. Seven years of love, life, and loss… I’m not back, I’m beyond; I’m not your villain, I’m your karma.”

According to reports, Am I the Drama? has already sold 1.5 million copies in the U.S. through pre-orders alone. It will also include the official lead single “Outside.”

Fans react to “WAP” and “Up” being included in Cardi B’s upcoming album

The inclusion of Cardi B’s two hit singles has sparked mixed reactions. Many online users on X (Twitter) questioned the decision to feature previously released tracks from as far back as 2020 and 2021 on a 2025 album.

“Adding wap a nearly 6 year old song is so desperate,” @Hottieexcuses wrote.
“More like ‘Am I the Desperation?’” @perrrysrep said.
“WAP?! Girl that song older than her BBL. What’s next, she finna drop Bodak Yellow,” @andebetallaya commented.
“putting pandemic quarantine music on an album releasing in 2025 is…. a choice….,” @hard_tingz chimed in.
“a 2020 song on a 2025 album should be illegal,” @track1sweetener added.

Meanwhile, others came to Cardi’s defense, praising the new visuals and pointing out that neither “WAP” nor “Up” had been previously included on an album.

“SHES SOOOO F**KING SICKENING NO AI JUST PURE ART,” @HARRYSHOUSE3 wrote.
“Before y’all start getting brave in the replies calling her “desperate”, you’d find an excuse if your fave did it too, and truthfully, who cares? A hit is a hit,” @wickednewshub commented.
“wap and up weren't on no album so this makes sense idc what y'all say,” @arianatorswildt posted.
“Idc, she’s smart to include those songs. Free 3 BILLION streams upon release! Should’ve thrown in Money & Press while she was at it, idk,” @grandeunext said.
“Cardi b album is already the most streamed female rap album this decade surpassing pork Friday 2,” @HARRYSHOUSE3 added.

Cardi B’s Am I the Drama? drops in September

Cardi B’s long-anticipated second studio album, Am I The Drama?, is slated for release on September 19.

The project comes with a pair of dramatic cover visuals and a deluxe box set. One version shows her in a sculpted crimson coat and stilettos, surrounded by crows under a gray sky. A raven also perches on her heel.

A second cover offers a close-up of her face, partially concealed by a crow’s wing, framed by a red hat and cloak.

Am I the Drama? marks her first album since Invasion of Privacy, which earned a Grammy and propelled her to the forefront of hip-hop.
