On May 31, 2025, BTS' RM shared an Instagram story featuring an image of a cartoon teddy bear holding a board with ‘D-10’ written on it. The idol also added the text ‘Let’s go home’ on his IG story, signifying the nearing of his military discharge date. Kim Namjoon, aka RM, has been serving his obligatory term in the South Korean military.
Fans of BTS' RM seemed excited about his and other members’ military release. Consequently, his followers filled social media with enthusiasm for the idol’s return. One X user commented:
“I only saw the notification but I already knew what's inside his story Oh joonie We're so close man!”

Many other fans gave mixed reactions to BTS’ RM’s story and his military discharge. While many said they can’t wait for BTS’ reunion, others claimed that he began his countdown from the day of his enlistment. Another fan waited for Namjoon to post a story about his military discharge.
“Yes sir I can’t wait for discharging the military. It’s almost there. Stay calm, Namjoon. Salute,” a fan wrote.
“he’s been counting down the moment he started his enlistment. this brother is sick and tired man. free him,” commented another fan.
“I cant wait to read his letter after discharge,” a fan wrote.
“i was waiting for him to post this,” commented another fan.
Some said that they are super duper happy about the group’s reunion, while others referred to the boy band as their family.
“I love you nam you're almost out that wall doesn't give more days to be free,” stated an admirer.
“I AM VERY MUCH SUPER DUPER HAPPYLIKE HES HOME SOOOON,” stated another fan.
“I SWEAR I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE'S SO LITTLE LEFT GOD MY FAMILY IS GOING TO REUNITE IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS,” a fan expressed.
BTS reunion is set for June 2025
The seven members of BTS are set to reunite next month. As of this writing, only two members of the band, notably Kim Seokjin and J-Hope, have been released following the completion of their obligatory service in the military.
The remaining band members, namely Jungkook, RM, Jimin, V, and SUGA, are still enlisted in the service and nearing the completion of their respective terms. Kim Taehyung (V) and RM joined service together in December 2023. Jungkook and Jimin, on the other hand, were enlisted together. SUGA, aka Agust D, commenced his term in September 2023.
All these members will be discharged in June, leading to the year’s much-awaited BTS reunion.

He earned this award for his solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person (RPWP), which came out on May 24, 2024.
