The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July at the age of 76. The Black Sabbath frontman and solo star was remembered with a live performance by artists who shared the stage with him in his final years. The tribute came less than two months after Osbourne’s last concert in Birmingham.

The performance was introduced by Ozzy Osbourne’s son, Jack, along with other family members. Jack spoke briefly about his father’s impact before welcoming the performers to the stage. The family’s presence made the moment more personal, connecting fans to Osbourne’s long career and legacy.

The show brought together musicians from different generations. Yungblud, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt all took part in honoring the late rock legend. Each artist performed one of Osbourne’s well-known songs.

Yungblud began the set with the 1980 solo single, Crazy Train. He sported a chain with a golden cross, which was once presented to him by Osbourne. He was energetic and emotional in his performance.

He proceeded to perform Changes. Yungblud even wore a fur jacket, which contributed to the stage image as the audience sang along to the song.

Yungblud screamed,

"Ozzy forever, man".

He also appeared on the red carpet in the run-up to the show, saying that Believer was one of his favorite Osbourne songs, and that his favorite record was Tribute, a live album with Randy Rhoads.

The voice of Tyler and the guitar work of Perry provided the performance with an alternative sound.

Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme also played his part. He used a guitar in the tribute, giving his twist to it.
