It's the end of the road for October Drift. After more than a decade of touring, recording, and more, the indie rock four-piece from Taunton, Somerset, have officially announced they are splitting.
The band shared the news with fans via Instagram that 2025 will be their final year together. They have also announced one last run of shows.
October Drift was formed in 2013 by friends Kiran Roy, Daniel Young, Alex Bispham, and Chris Holmes. Over the years, they released three albums: Forever Whatever (2020), I Don't Belong Anywhere (2022), and Blame The Young (2024).
October Drift announced their farewell shows via an official Instagram post, which read:
"FAREWELL SHOWS ANNOUNCED. Honestly, we have mixed emotions announcing these shows. It felt important to us to finish this chapter joyously - a massive celebration of everything we have been privileged enough to do over the last 10 years. A huge farewell party basically. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Tues 29th) at 10 am via the link in bio & on our website. The community that has organically built around our band has been nothing short of amazing - these shows will be the send off it deserves. Dan, Chris, Alex & Kiran"
October Drift also penned an Instagram post to announce their upcoming split:
"This is a hard one to write. It is with love, joy and hard work we have been fortunate enough to forge the best community, with the very best people we could ever ask to have shared this journey with. Which is why we wanted you all to be the first to know that the time has come to bring October Drift to a close."
The post continued:
"We have toured our arses off for over a decade and made 3 timeless albums we are immensely proud of - but this band was never just about music. It was about four best mates from school chasing something we believed in, building a community around that belief, and sharing it with everyone who found something of themselves in our songs. We have given everything to this band physically, emotionally and financially, but it's time to close the curtain on this chapter."
October Drift concluded the post, stating:
"We will be proudly completing all the festivals we are grateful to be part of and in the coming days we'll be announcing a handful of shows towards the end of the year to say farewell and thank you - for the belief, support and love for our band and the racket four friends from Somerset made. Nothing is ever lost, Dan, Chris, Alex & Kiran"
