A month ago, Taylor Swift's father, Scott Kingsley Swift, was hospitalized due to heart surgery. A TMZ exclusive report published on July 16 states he is recovering, and adds that the pop star and her family were by Scott's side since day one. Scott Swift did not suffer a heart attack, but the surgery was scheduled after he went in for a checkup with his doctor.

Taylor Swift's spokesperson told TMZ that the singer's father had to undergo a quintuple bypass surgery after his doctor noticed something during the checkup a month ago. Scott was surrounded by his wife, Andrea, and his two children, Taylor and Austin, throughout the medical procedure and his recovery. The spokesperson also revealed that Scott is recovering and he is feeling great.

What kind of heart surgery did Taylor Swift's father undergo?

Taylor Swift's father had to undergo a complex heart surgery known as the quintuple bypass surgery. According to Regimen Healthcare, the quintuple bypass surgery can also be referred to as a "quintuple coronary bypass surgery" or "quintuple bypass heart surgery".

Despite being a complex surgery procedure, patients normally recover well from the procedure and are reported to live healthier lives. Taylor Swift's father is one such example. Scott Swift is 73 years old, and is right now recovering well from the procedure.

Taylor Swift has been dealing with her father's surgery and keeping the news low-key, away from the public eye and her Swifties. It is only a month after the procedure that her spokesperson decided to speak out and reveal the news that Scott Swift is recovering well after a quintuple bypass surgery.

The 35-year-old singer has been keeping away from the media after her recent Eras Tour, and is spending more time with her family and NFL player boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
