Pop singer‑songwriter Slayyyter has signed a record deal with Columbia Records in partnership with Records, an indie label owned by Sony Music. Under the new deal, she released her first single, “Beat Up Chanel$.” She said she is happy to begin this next chapter with Columbia Records, as she believes that they understand her vision fully. She is excited for fans to see all the new music she has been working on.

"So grateful to start this next chapter of music with Columbia and Records. They understand my vision fully, and I’m excited for people to see everything we’ve been working on. It feels nice to have found a new home for my music."

“Beat Up Chanel$” is the first song she released under this deal. She teased it in July 2025 and dropped it on August 1, 2025. The song came with an edgy music video co‑directed by Slayyyter and video director Hannah DeVries. The song is about love, excess, and feeling detached.

Slayyyter's new deal and release

Slayyyter has been making music since 2017. She first shared songs on SoundCloud, and her first mixtape came out in 2019. Her first album, “Troubled Paradise,” was released in 2021 under Fader Label. In 2023, she released her second album, “Starf*cker.”

In summer 2025, she moved to Columbia Records in partnership with Records. This is her first major label deal, as the label group includes many top pop artists. As of 2025, the Columbia roster includes Beyoncé, Harry Styles, Adele, Lil Nas X, and Halsey, among others. With the new deal, she aims to grow her music and reach more fans.

The song “Beat Up Chanel$”

“Beat Up Chanel$” marks the start of her new era. It arrived with a bold video to match the song’s mood - edgy, fashion-forward, and raw. The video plays on themes of luxury and rebellion. The visuals and lyrics talk about designer items, waste, feeling detached, and young memories turned nostalgic.

The video was co‑directed by Slayyyter herself and Hannah DeVries. It shows a blend of chaos, high fashion, and teenage memory. Some visuals feel like Y2K rage and couture destruction.

Slayyyter said the song reminds her of times from her youth. She said,

"There is something about it that feels nostalgic, like the indie electronic music I would rinse on my iPod as a teen. It’s an evolution of my sound and where my head is at creatively for the future."

Before this, she was touring as the opening act for Kesha’sTits Out Tour with the Scissor Sisters. That tour began in July 2025, and she performed songs live and gained momentum from the tour run.

Her most recent album, “Starf*cker” came out in September 2023. On that album, she worked with glam themes inspired by old Hollywood films. With Columbia Records backing her, Slayyyter hopes to build on everything she has done. She plans to bring new music that blends pop, electronic, fashion‑driven visuals, and personal memory. She said she is excited for people to see the work she has been doing with her new label.

Slayyyter’s fans can expect more new songs and videos in the coming weeks and months. The July news and the August 1 release mark a clear shift in her career path. The label change, the new single, and the artistic control all highlight how this deal may shape her future sound and image.
