Chris Brown’s former superfan is suing him for $30 million. An exclusive report published by The Mirror US on May 17, 2025, revealed that Angela Reliford has launched a lawsuit against the R&B singer, accusing him of sharing a doctored video on Instagram that has severely damaged her reputation and paints her as a stalker.
In the video shared by Chris Brown in July 2024, Reliford seemingly threatens to harm one of Chris Brown’s dancers with ominous music playing in the background. The clip also features a mugshot of Reliford with the description that she was previously arrested for as*ault and battery in Florida.
Reliford claimed that the mugshot included in the video painted her as an aggressive lawbreaker. The 36-year-old entrepreneur, who formerly operated an Instagram account, @chrisbrownzwife777, added that the video resulted in online abuse and misconceptions about her gender identity.
The lawsuit was filed on May 5, 2025, in Nevada and accuses the Under the Influence hitmaker of slander, defamation, copyright infringement, libel, negligence, privacy invasion, and emotional distress. Reliford revealed that a judge had awarded her 90 more days to serve Chris Brown.
She initially attempted to serve the singer via publication, but it failed on a technicality. Once Brown is successfully served, he is expected to file a reply within 20 days, or a default judgment will be entered against him.
The R&B singer is currently being held without bail by the Metropolitan Police on the charge of grievous bodily harm following a 2023 incident at a nightclub.
Angela Reliford claims that she was physically a*saulted at her workplace following the video shared about her on Chris Brown’s Instagram
Reliford, in her court filing, claims that the reportedly doctored video shared by Brown on Instagram resulted in workplace abuse and remarks about her gender.
The Atlanta-based entrepreneur stated:
"I was just attacked online for months," adding to her narrative of digital ridicule and embarrassment, "A lot of his fans tried to insult me and to humiliate me. They started misgendering me and calling me a transgender to be offensive and disrespectful. And unfortunately, some people started to actually believe that."
She added that the situation worsened when she was physically attacked by a man at her workplace because she was misgendered:
"A young gentleman who believed I was transgender actually attacked me and fought me because he thought I was a man.”
Reliford added that when the harassment continued, she had to leave her hometown. She further questioned why Brown posted the video:
"You threw me to 145 million people and I was destroyed, ripped apart, and for what? Because I no longer wanted to support you?".
Reliford has resolved to “stand up for the underdogs and us little guys who kind of are getting picked on, and he's weaponizing his platform."
