Young Thug marked his comeback to the music scene with his new album, UY Scuti. The 20-track album is loaded with collaborations, including Cardi B, Travis Scott, Mariah The Scientist, and other rappers. Vulture reported that this is Young's first album since the end of the "YSL trial" and first since his formal release from prison.

Billboard noted that the album was rumoured to be set to release in May or June and kept experiencing delays, until it was pushed to September 19. However, Thug pushed it by another week as it coincided with Cardi B's latest album, Am I The Drama? Earlier this year, the rapper explained the album title to GQ and noted,

"I just feel big, you know. The name of my album UY Scuti. I feel like I'm one of the biggest stars. I did a lot. Founding this culture. The new rap game that's happening right now. I'm out of this world. Not like God, though."

We are taking a look at Young Thug's new album and rating the songs from best to worst.

1. Money On Money

Released earlier this year, Money On Money has an electric presence, with Future's vocals fresh and crisp as ever. As Ratings Game Music notes, the track appears to be one of the "complete" tracks on the album.

2. Miss My Dogs

Among the tracks, Miss My Dogs has the strongest hold and sounds like a reflective piece. It appears to be personal, and Young doesn't hesitate to be vulnerable.

3. Blaming Jesus

Subtle gospel undertones on Blaming Jesus and smooth rap delivery present Young Thug in his most natural-sounding track. Through his potential connection with Jesus, Young Thug pens down a personal note to a loved one.

4. Whoopty Doo & Pardon My Back

On Whoopty Doo, Young Thug offers a smooth rap, and unlike other tracks on the album, the lyrics don't appear disjointed. Pardon My Back, which appears in the second half, does a similar job in keeping listeners engaged.

5. Invest Into You & Dreams Rarely Do Come True

While Thug and Mariah The Scientist's relationship continues to make headlines, their vocals don't disappoint. In Invest Into You, the duo take a romantic detour, with Mariah offering a gentle scaffolding to the album. The theme is contrasted by that in Dreams Rarely Do Come True, which allegedly indicates the difficulties that emerged in their relationship, per Vulture.

6. Sad Slime

On Sad Slime, Young indicates that he has gone through many negative experiences, but he doesn't want to let others down. The last minute on the track is soft music with gentle background vocals, making it much different from others on the album.

7. On The News

Cardi B complements Young Thug's rap and delivers a smooth track. The background music is upbeat, and the duo's vocals cut through.

8. Walk Down & Pipe Down

It is commendable that Thug was able to get so many collaborations on board, including 21 Savage on Walk Down and Travis Scott on Pipe Down. While listeners can feel that the album becomes monotonous by the end, the collaborators continue to add a tinge of freshness.

9. Ninja & I'm So Dope

The song begins at the 1:40 mark, while Young Thug sets the context for it. Fast and explicit at its best, Ninja sets the tone for the album. Some rap moments sound awkward, but the music keeps it steady. I'm So Dope has a similar vibe in the second half of the album, but it doesn't sound extraordinary.

10. F**ing Told You

Young Thug released the song with an explicit music video. While the music engages the lyrics, one can be left grappling with the lyrics when Thug describes himself as a "birthday cake."

11. Catch Me I'm Falling & Whaddup Jesus

Young Thug shifts gears on Catch Me I'm Falling and blends gentle vocals with raw lyrics. He mentions his connection with Jesus at many points in the album. On Whaddup Jesus, YFN Lucci joins him to represent Atlanta rap.

12. Yuck & RIP Big & Mac

Yuck features complementing vocals by Ken Carson that make the delivery crisp. However, the track doesn't appear to have a strong hold for listeners, and it is easy to skip over it. A similar track, RIP Big & Mac featuring T.I., appears on the second half of the album. T.I.'s vocals provide a much-needed refresher by this point in the album.

13. Mami & Revenge (feat. Lil Gotit & 1300SAINT)

While Mami's explicit descriptions and Sexyy Red's rap banter complement each other, the track appears to be the weakest on the album and has a fleeting presence. Revenge appears to make a similar attempt, but doesn't leave a lasting impression.
