Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ trial commenced on May 5, 2025, and bombshell allegations and statements from the prosecution’s star witness, Cassie Ventura, are already making the rounds online. The R&B singer who dated Combs on and off from 2007 to 2018 sued the music mogul in 2023, accusing him of physical and psychological abuse.
Ventura also alleged that Combs forced her to participate in drug-fueled s*x parties infamously known as “freak-offs.” Although Ventura’s civil suit was settled a day after it was instituted, it heralded other allegations and lawsuits against Combs.
Federal authorities began investigating the Bad Boy Records boss, and he was arrested in September 2024 and charged with multiple charges, including racketeering, s*x trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Jury selection began on May 5, 2025, and opening statements from the defense and prosecution followed on May 12, 2025. On May 13, 2025, Cassie Ventura took the stand and made several claims.
She alleged that Combs threatened to harm Kid Cudi, whom she dated at some point. She also claimed that the record label boss forced her to perform s*xual acts on male escorts for days at a time.

1) Allegations of “freak-offs”
On May 13, 2025, Cassie alleged that Combs subjected her to “freak-offs” with male escorts. Per Business Insider Africa, She claimed that although she was nervous in the beginning, she didn’t want him to be unhappy:
"I was just in love and wanted to make him happy."
She added that Combs was allegedly obsessed with watching her have s*xual encounters with other men:
“This s*xual encounter that he called voyeurism, where he would watch me have a s*xual encounter with a third man, specifically another man. I didn't want to upset him if I said it scared me or if I said anything aside from, 'OK, let's try it.'"
2) Combs reportedly threatened to harm Kid Cudi
Ventura told jurors that she dated rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, in 2011, and Combs was reportedly angry when he found out. She added that Combs threatened to release freak-off videos involving her and “hurt Scott and I.” Per CBS News, Cassie also told jurors that Combs also threatened to blow up told Kid Cudi’s car.
Ventura alleged that Combs wanted Kid Cudi's friends to witness his car getting blown up in the driveway.
3) Several of the songs allegedly recorded by Cassie during her time at Bad Boy Records were unreleased
Cassie claimed on April 13, 2025, that she recorded “hundreds of songs” during her long career as a Bad Boy Records artist, enough to cover her 10-album deal, but none were released.
Asked why she couldn’t release another album, Cassie claimed Sean 'Diddy' Combs controlled the releases. The R&B singer added that she spent so much time in “freak-offs” that she allegedly didn’t have time to work on music projects.

Ventura claimed in her May 14, 2025, testimony that Combs had r*ped her in 2018 after a date. Ventura told the court that she broke up with Combs in 2018 after she suspected him of allegedly cheating on her with another woman.
The Me & U hitmaker alleged that she met Combs in August 2018 to discuss their breakup, and they were not together then. According to CBS News, she claimed that after the dinner Combs followed her home and r*ped her on her living room floor.
Ventura stated that she cried and begged him to stop, to no avail.
5) Diddy allegedly overdosed on painkillers and was hospitalized
According to CNN, during the cross-examination of Cassie Ventura, one of Diddy’s lawyers, Anna Estevao, stated that he overdosed on painkillers and was hospitalized in 2012. Ventura was asked if she recalled the incident and replied in the affirmative.
The singer recalled that they’d had a “freak-off” the night of the overdose incident at a s*x club in San Bernardino, California. She added that Combs went to a party at the Playboy Mansion while she reportedly headed home.
She claimed that she took the music mogul to the hospital after he overdosed on painkillers.
