The fourth day of Diddy's trial was held on May 15, 2025, and the defense team cross-examined his ex-girlfriend and key prosecution witness, Cassie Ventura.

For context, Cassie testified for over three consecutive days during Sean 'Diddy' Combs' federal s*x trafficking and racketeering trial, during which she gave the court a detailed testimony of her relationship with Combs, alleged freak-offs, and the physical and s*xual abuse she claimed to have endured during their relationship.

On the fourth day of the trial, the defense team presented explicit messages and emails that were exchanged between Cassie and Combs, and cross-examined Cassie the entire day.

Key highlights of Diddy's day four of trial

Cassie Ventura, who had filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, is a star witness of the prosecution and has given the court a detailed testimony for over three days. Thursday, May 15, was the fourth day of Diddy's trial, and Cassie was cross-examined by the defense lawyers.

The trial began with Cassie testifying that she loved Combs and believed that he loved her too, and when she was asked if that was the reason why she agreed to the freak-offs, she replied:

''No, there’s a lot more to that.''

The jurors were then shown text messages. One of the text messages was when Ventura said that she felt comfortable expressing her needs to Combs, and the other text message was about a recent freak-off that had left her feeling "dirty and grimy," according to a CNN report. The jurors were also shown text messages from 2017, in which Cassie wrote:

''I love our (Freak Offs) when we both want it.''

While Cassie claimed those were just words at the time, the defense team used these messages to show that she was consenting to the freak-offs and was not a victim.

Cassie also opened up about reportedly arguing with Combs over his relationship with a woman in 2014, and she also testified that she was jealous of Kim Porter, with whom Combs has three children. She also told her court that Combs would allegedly suspect her of being in a relationship with other men.

According to The Guardian, Cassie told the court that she used to take ecstasy, or MDMA, during the freak-offs and also said that at one point in the relationship, she and Combs were addicted to drugs.

She mentioned Diddy's explosive behaviour, following which the defense asked numerous questions, which suggested that Diddy was addicted to opiates and any withdrawal would negatively affect his mood, according to The Guardian.

Judge Arun Subramanian then reminded the defense team that the cross-examination has to be concluded by May 16, 2025, given that Cassie is about eight and a half months pregnant. Prosecutor Maurene Comey also emphasized that the prosecution is worried that Cassie could go into labor over the weekend.
