Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, had appeared in the Manhattan court yesterday for his third day of trial. The singer and dancer, Cassie Ventura, who was Diddy's ex-girlfriend and now a key witness in the federal s*x-trafficking and racketeering trial, returned to the court on the morning of May 14, 2025.

On the third day of trial, Cassie testified that Combs had r*ped her and gave details of the abuse she endured from Combs during their decade-long relationship, as per The Guardian. For context, Diddy and Cassie were in a relationship since 2007 before they called it quits in 2018.

Key highlights of Diddy's third day trial

May 14, 2025, was the third day of Diddy's federal s*x-trafficking and racketeering trial, and Cassie, the star witness of the prosecution, had come to the court to testify.

The testimony began with Cassie recalling the 2016 hotel incident, the footage of which showed Diddy hitting Cassie with a vase and shoving her. Recalling the incident, Cassie said that she remembers Diddy yelling at her in the lobby and throwing the vase, which she said didn't hit her.

The jury was then shown pictures of Ventura, which she took after the hotel incident. She had swollen lips in the photo, and said she had black eyes underneath her sunglasses. Cassie was then asked about the 'freak-offs,' to which she answered, saying that she couldn't deny it and any disagreement between her and Diddy would turn into a fight, and that there was always a concern of the fight becoming violent.

Cassie then told the court how Diddy would record the 'freak-offs' and blackmail her, as per the BBC. Describing how she felt when she was blackmailed with those videos, she said:

''I feared for my career, my family … It is horrible and disgusting, no one should do that to anyone. It could ruin everything I worked for, make me look like a slut … I wasn’t supposed to be on those videos. I didn’t want to be in them."

She continued:

"I felt trapped. Whatever was going to not make him angry or threaten me I was going to do."

Cassie also told the court that she never participated in freak-offs after their relationship ended in 2018. She mentioned that Diddy had raped her that year. She said that they went out for dinner and then he brought her back home, came inside, and r*ped her in her living room.

She recalled an incident when Combs had attacked her in her apartment. Because of the attack, she had a cut on her eyebrow. She mentioned that Combs had taken her to a plastic surgeon to fix the cut.

Cassie also testified that Combs was violent with other people, including her friends and his employees, both men and women. She also mentioned in the court that in 2011, she was in a brief relationship with rapper Kid Cudi, and when Diddy came to know about it, he told her that he would hurt both of them and have the rapper's car blown up.

During the testimony, Cassie also revealed the amount she had settled the lawsuit with Combs in 2023. She said that they settled the lawsuit for $20 million, as per CNN.

Cassie will appear in court again on Thursday for cross-examination.
