The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has named the inmate who allegedly stabbed rapper Tory Lanez 14 times in custody. The attack occurred on May 12, 2025, at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.

CDCR reports the suspect is a 41-year-old Santino Casio, who is already serving a life sentence for serious offenses. Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was assaulted during the early morning hours within one of the prison's housing units.
