In the ongoing case of Celeste Rivas' murder, the girl found in D4vd's Tesla, TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County Coroner has released the body to her family. However, the investigation is still ongoing, since the law enforcement has yet to name a suspect.

TMZ revealed that Rivas went missing a year ago, according to what law enforcement told them. She often ran away from home due to family troubles. Rivas' middle school teacher also told TMZ that she ran away from home last year in January. She was only found a month later and brought back home. However, in April, she decided to run away again.

TMZ helped the LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division in identifying the victim after receiving a tip from a source that the body belonged to Celeste Davis. Her identity was confirmed a few days later.

Celeste Rivas' hometown grieving her death

Neighbors and acquaintances were mourning the passing of young Celeste Rivas after she was identified as the corpse in D4vd's Tesla boot.

One of the residents, Rubi Alonso, has a son who is the same age as Rivas and attended kindergarten together. Alonso said:

"She deserves justice... It's just so sad... She was studious, a hard worker and intelligent."

While Lake Elsinore Unified School District did not share whether Rivas was a student or not, due to confidentiality laws. They wrote in a statement:

"Our entire district community is deeply saddened by this loss, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her."

One of Celeste's neighbors, Kayleigh Cortez, said:

"I recognized her because of her big, curly hair... I would see her walking with her backpack on her way to school... I got goosebumps when I heard about what happened to her, when they found her in the car... It was just so horrible"

Store owner, Elie Naddaf, had some surveillance video footage that suggested a young teen walking in the dark was Rivas. Her family asked for the video, which he shared, but the police never contacted him for the clip. He said:

"She was going to school with the other kids, and she would stop by all the time... She was always so quiet, shy, just a sweet child... I feel a connection to the community. It’s just heartbreaking to see this happen."

Celeste Rivas' tragic death has left her family and community shocked and heartbroken. Her body has been released to her family, as the investigation into her murder remains ongoing.
