Singer and actress Demi Lovato has reportedly expressed excitement about her fellow Disney alum, Selena Gomez's, engagement. Lovato appeared on Watch What Happens Live on September 16 to promote her upcoming album, It's Not That Deep, set to release on October 24. People magazine reported that during one of the sections in the interview, host Andy Cohen referenced Selena's comments about her peers from Disney Channel.
Gomez recently reflected on her Disney Channel "high school" days during her appearance on the Therapuss podcast with Jake Shane on August 7. She gushed about other alumni on the channel and noted,
"From the Jonas brothers, to Miley and Demi, and then it was Zendaya. It's just so cool to see all the people you went to 'school' with, if you will. It's good to see all of them do their things."
Demi Lovato revealed she had seen parts of the interview and noted,
“I heard clips she said on the podcast. It was really, really sweet.”
She also took a moment to express happiness for her Princess Protection Program co-star's engagement and noted that she "couldn't be happier for her." She added,
"I just wish her the best."

Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez's camaraderie goes back to Barney & Friends days, when they first rose to fame as child actors. While promoting her new album, Lovato congratulated Gomez and described her happiness. She also answered a fan's question about whether she listened to Selena and Benny's new album, I Said I Love You First. She said,
"I have listened to the album, really really great job. I love the songs on it, Bluest Flame was my song."
The singer also spoke about the possibility of collaboration with Charli XCX. While there is no news about a possible project, Demi noted that she would "love" that. Answering another question, Demi revealed the "creative process" behind the album cover and noted,
"I wanted to capture and it be symbolic of my life, so its me standing in the midst of all the chaos surrounding me. Its no secret that my life has been on full display, I wanted to capture that."
She added,
"There's also, I am holding a dry cleaning bag while being naked, its showcasing how I can be vulnerable"
She elaborated that it is also a message to her fans and how much she "loves" them.
