Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial has reached the sixth week of the trial. June 17, 2025, was day 25 of testimony, and the court heard testimony from DeLeassa Penland, a U.S. Attorney’s Office special agent.

Previously, the court had heard testimony from a paralegal specialist, one of Combs' former assistants, and Diddy's ex-girlfriend, who testified under the pseudonym Jane.

The prosecutors are expecting to rest their case by Friday following the direct examination of Brendan Paul, Combs' former assistant. Combs is facing serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution.

Key highlights of day 25 of Diddy's trial

Day 25 of the Combs trial was mostly centered around digital evidence, financial records, and testimony from special agent DeLeassa Penland. Penland answered questions about the various payments Combs' business was charged for damage to hotel rooms.

This included $500 for damage to drapes and carpets at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and a whopping $46,786 for penthouse damage from the Intercontinental Hotel in October 2012. Penland also walked the court through the series of text messages and calls following the March 2016 hotel assault incident at a Los Angeles hotel.

As per CNN, this was one of the texts Combs sent to Cassie following the hotel assault:

''Baby I cant say it enough Im so sorry!!!!!''

To which Cassie had then replied:

''I still have crazy bruising from Friday. I would be a dummy to subject myself to that possibly happening again. When you get f*cked up the wrong way, you always want to show me that you have the power and you knock me around. I’m not a rag doll, I’m someone’s child.''

The jury also heard about the freak-offs that occurred between 2009 - 2014, during which flights were purchased to fly escorts using an American Express credit card in Diddy's name. The same card was also used to pay for hotels associated with and for other services, including car servicing and alcohol, as per Court TV.

The jurors were also shown various clips of Cassie Ventura's freak-offs, the longest clip was of three minutes and fifty seconds. Diddy's attorney, Teny Geragos, then challenged the narrative by highlighting the affectionate texts between Combs and Cassie, which were removed from the prosecution's timeline. By showing these texts, they were trying to prove that the relationship between the two was consensual, as per Sky News.

Reportedly, in one of the texts, Cassie had said that she preferred a Friday night so that she could use the weekend to recover. Previously, during her testimony, Cassie had mentioned that she participated in the freak-offs to "keep Combs happy."

The prosecution will be directly examining Brendan Paul next, and the examination is expected to last for 90 minutes. The defense had said that their case would take somewhere between two to five days to the trial. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges. However, if convicted, he would be facing life imprisonment.
