Sean Combs' federal s*x trafficking and racketeering trial has reached its seventh week. The prosecutors are planning to rest their case by Tuesday, June 25, 2025.
Throughout the trial, the court heard testimonies from Combs' former girlfriends, employees, and law enforcement officers. On June 23, Special Agent Joseph Cerciello testified in court. The jurors were shown the freak-offs videos, and the defense surprised the court by announcing they would not call any witnesses.
Key highlights of Diddy's June 23 trial
On Monday, June 23, Special Agent Joseph Cerciello gave his testimony. He revealed text messages from 2023 between Diddy and a male escort in which Diddy was seen bargaining for cheaper escorts and identifying himself as a long-term client.
The jurors then watched 20 minutes of the drug-fueled freak-offs. The prosecutors have cited these freak-offs as evidence of s*x trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, where Combs relied on his employees and associates to fly escorts, set up hotel rooms, and clean them after the sessions, as per AP News.
Cerciello also reviewed flight records, hotel invoices, and receipts showing how his team arranged the escorts' travel to cities like NYC, Miami, and LA. As per Sky News, he also testified that Combs had ordered bottles of baby oil, Cialis, soups, and IV fluids to recover after these sessions.
There were messages between Diddy and the victim, who testified under the pseudonym Jane, that were reviewed. In one of those messages, Jane was telling Combs that she was not a 'p*rn star' or an 'animal' and wanted to stop the freak-offs.
Hotel bills were also reviewed, which showed the damage and the costs related to the baby oil spills. The Defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, revealed to the court that they would not call any defense witnesses, including Combs, as reported by Business Insider. If Combs takes the stand, he can be cross-examined by the prosecutors; hence, Combs not testifying shifts the burden entirely to the prosecution and avoids exposing Combs to cross-examination.
With the prosecutors expecting to wrap up by Tuesday, the court will hold a charge conference on Wednesday, followed by closing arguments on Thursday. The jury deliberations may begin as soon as Friday.
Combs is facing 5 key federal charges and has pleaded not guilty to all. However, if convicted on all counts, he could face 15 years to life in prison.
