Forensic Report Clarifies Circumstances Around YouTuber Daedoseogwan’s Passing

Na Dong‑hyun, or popularly known by his YouTube name, Daedoseogwan, passed away last Saturday. He was found in his home in Gwangjin‑gu, after there were multiple reports that Dong-hyun was missing appointments and was unreachable via phone. Two days later, the reports from the National Forensic Service are out, and according to their findings:

"no indications of criminal suspicion"

The autopsy was done two days after the YouTuber was found. Additionally, the Seoul Gwangjin Police Station states that the report mentioned no homicide or criminal activities related to Daedoseogwan's passing. The police are waiting for the final autopsy reports to declare the cause of death.

As of now, there are speculations that the YouTuber passed away due to existing medical conditions. Daedoseogwan has mentioned in his previous broadcasts about his intermittent heart-related pain. When the police found his body in his residence, there were no reports of a suicide note or indications of foul play.

What was Daedoseogwan known for?

The 47-year-old YouTuber who goes by "The Great Library" or "DaeDo" was famous as a first-generation internet broadcaster. He is also known for combining live streaming with edited videos for YouTube. He created a model (Stream-to-YouTube) that many other creators later followed.

At the time of his passing, Daedoseogwan had 1.46 million subscribers on YouTube and 80.1K followers on Instagram.

In addition to his YouTube career, Dong-hyun also managed to expand his career to making television appearances, doing live broadcasts, as well as educating others about creator business models.

Two days before he passed away, he was spotted at the 2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week event at DDP. His last uploaded YouTube video was on September 3, two days before his death.

He also conducted a live broadcast on September 4. During the broadcast, DaeDo can be heard saying:

"Welcome, hello... I went to Fashion Week, took some photos, and ate with friends... I haven't slept much... I think I only slept for about 3 hours while getting my hair and makeup done since this morning... I went to Fashion Week today. It was fun. I watched the fashion show for a while... I went out early in the morning to get my hair and makeup done and got dressed."

Daedoseogwan's passing marks the loss of a pioneering voice in Korea's digital media landscape. His death came as a shock to many friends and followers because there were no indications of his being ill. On top of that, the YouTuber was active online, as well as offline.
