Diddy's trial is in its fourth week now, with June 3, 2025, being the fifteenth day of his trial. During the trial, the court heard the testimony of Eddy Garcia, a former hotel worker at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Eddy explained to the court the lengths Sean 'Diddy' Combs went to obtain the surveillance footage showing him assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, as per The Sun.
The former hotel worked had invoked his 5th Amendment right not to self-incriminate, and had taken the stand on Tuesday. Combs is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York.
What did Eddy say about Diddy acquiring the assault video footage?
On Tuesday, a former hotel security supervisor at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles gave his testimony in Combs federal sex trafficking trail. In the testimony, he told the told that he was first reached out by Kristina Khorram, who was then Combs' chief of staff.
Kristina had asked him if it was possible to obtain a copy of the video. Eddy also told the court that Diddy told him that the video could destroy his career and that if Eddy helped him, he would take care of him financially.
He then told the court that his supervisor agreed to give Combs the video for $50,000, to which Diddy agreed. Eddy said after they met at the meet-up point, Diddy appeared excited to obtain the video and he told him:
''Eddy, my angel, I knew you could help.''
Garcia then gave Combs the USB drive that had the video, and he then signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with a $1 million breach penalty, as per People. The agreement confirmed that the USB had the only copy of the video.
He then told the court that Sean Combs gave him $100,000 in cash in a brown paper bag, which he distributed among Madrano and Henry Elias, the other security guards who responded to the domestic violence situation in the hotel hallway. He testified giving $50,000 to Madrano, $20,000 to Elias, and kept $30,000 for himself.
Other than Eddy, Combs former assistant, under the pseudonym Mia, also testified this week. She alleged enduring sexual assault by Combs multiple times and also gave the court a detailed testimony of how her work environment with Combs was toxic, adding that she feared for her safety the whole time.
The fifteenth day also witnessed a woman disrupting the court proceedings upon yelling "Diddy" and other profanities before being taken out of the court, as per New York Post.
Combs is facing five charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. Although he has pleaded not guilty to all charges, if convicted, he could get lifetime in prison.
