On June 24, Joseph Manuel Marquez, known by his gaming name Mang0, issued a long apology statement on X (formerly Twitter), talking about the whole situation regarding the Beerio Kart World Cup.

The incident took place on June 21, when Mang0 was invited by Ludwig Ahgren to his Beerio Kart World Cup. However, Joseph was seen drunk and harassing other streamers during the event.

The event was reportedly attended by twenty-three other streamers. The clips of Joseph harassing female streamers soon went viral, after which he received backlash and was even dropped from Cloud9.

On June 25, Joseph Manuel Marquez issued an apology, taking the responsibility for his behavior by saying:

"I made multiple people feel uncomfortable while drunk at Beerio Kart. There’s no excuse. It was messed up, it hurt people, and I crossed a line."

He shared that he’s reached out to everyone affected by his actions. Additionally, he mentioned his family, friends, and son, saying he disappointed them through his actions.

Opening up about discussing the incident with his mother, he wrote,

"When I talked to my mom about everything, I said I was glad my grandma wasn’t around to see this. She passed away recently, and I hadn’t said anything publicly. But saying that out loud to my mom just broke me. I started crying, and I don’t think I’ve done that with her since I was a kid."

Mang0 shares his future recovery plans

In the X post, Joseph shared that he has started looking into rehab centers and plans to get admitted once he finds the 'right fit.' Talking about his alcohol addiction, he said:

"My relationship with alcohol was always a problem and I just kinda made it my thing, so it was easy to brush a lot of the behavior and comments off. That lifestyle has caught up to me and I need to make a change for the better"

The gamer was dropped from Cloud9, an American professional esports company that Joseph was a part of for the last eleven years. Speaking on the same, he said:

"I lost my C9 family. People I’ve known for years. People I care about. That phone call with Jack hit hard. It felt like I let down someone who was like a second dad to me. I still don’t really know how to think about it."

Throughout the post, Joseph accepted how his actions made others uncomfortable. He also said he understands the reason behind his ban and will accept it, even if he’s not allowed back in the future. The comments on the post have been restricted, with only accounts that Mang0 follows or mentioned in the post allowed to reply.

As per his post, he will be taking a break from streaming and social media to focus on himself and his recovery.
