Sean Diddy Combs' sentencing took place on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Manhattan Courthouse in New York. The 55-year-old music mogul was arrested on September 16, 2024, and charged with racketeering, two counts of sexual trafficking, and two counts of transportation for prostitution. On July 2, Sean Combs was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges but was found guilty of transporting for prostitution.

The prosecution pressed for eleven years' imprisonment, while his defense pushed for fourteen months. After listening to the last plea from the defense and prosecutors, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Diddy to 50 months in prison. He also fined him $500,000 and ordered five years of supervised release.

While Diddy’s case might seem over, the New York Post reports that the music mogul still has nearly 70 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual abuse. The publication reveals that lawyers are split on whether Combs will settle with the accusers or fight the claims. Celebrity attorney Bradford Cohen opined that the rapper should fight back:

“It doesn’t make sense in the long run because the others are going to want to pursue you even harder now that you settled one case.”

More details on Sean Diddy Combs’ sentence

Prior to his sentencing, Sean Diddy Combs made a statement in which he pleaded for leniency. In it, the rapper also personally apologized to Cassie Ventura and Jane:

“One of the hardest things I've had to handle was having to be quiet and not being able to express how sorry I am for my actions. I want to personally apologize to Cassie Ventura for any harm I have caused her emotionally or physically. I don't take that lightly. I would like to apologize to her family. I am so sorry. I would like to apologize to Jane. I’m sorry. I brought you into my mess.”

He condemned his actions, describing them as shameful, disgusting, and sick:

“My actions were disgusting, shameful and sick. I was sick, sick from the drugs. I was out of control, I needed help, and I didn't get the help, and I cannot make any excuse because my mother taught me. I got lost in my dream of life. I am not this larger-than-life person. I am just a human being. I was trying my best, but I got lost in my excess.”

He continued, pleading the judge for a lighter sentence.

“I can't change the past, but I can change the future," he said. "I ask your honor for mercy. I beg your honor for mercy, to be a father again, a son again, a leader in my community again, and get the help I desperately need.”

He concluded his statement:

“I take full accountability and responsibility. The prosecution wants you to make an example of me. I want you to make an example of what a person can do if they get another chance, and if you give me another chance, I will not let you down.”
