Word on the streets is that Fat Joe is still in good spirits despite the legal problems he’s been facing recently. On June 19, 2025, the rapper’s former hype man, Terrance T.A. Dixon, sued him for a pattern of abuse and exploitation over more than a decade.

The lawsuit also alleges that Fat Joe engaged in relations with minors, some as young as fifteen and sixteen years old. According to TMZ’s exclusive June 21 report, Fat Joe’s close friend Ja Rule has assured fans and media that the accused rapper is doing well notwithstanding the explosive allegations against him.

TMZ correspondents caught up with Ja Rule at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert on June 20, 2025, and the rapper shared that he checked in with his friend Joe before his Friday night performance, and the latter assured him that he was doing well.

Ja Rule added that he invited the All The Way Up hitmaker to join him on stage, but he refused because he had other commitments.

Everything we know about the recent allegations against Fat Joe

In Dixon’s June 19, 2025, 157-page lawsuit, the former employee alleged that he was forced into 4,000 unwanted s*xual encounters during the period of his employment with Fat Joe.

The lawsuit also alleged that the rapper used his connections to powerful politicians like former Vice President Kamala Harris, President Bill Clinton, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams to perpetuate his illegal activities. The lawsuit claims that Fat Joe paid for cosmetic surgery for one of the alleged minors he had s*x with and even contemplated leaving his wife for another.

Dixon’s legal representative stated in the court documents:

"Cartagena has demonstrated a disturbing lack of remorse or discretion regarding his predatory behaviour. Rather than conceal his actions, he has, on multiple occasions, alluded to or openly referenced s*xually inappropriate conduct in his public persona and artistic output."

A reference was made to the 54-year-olds 2006 hit She’s My Mama. According to the lawsuit, the lyrics in the song alluded to the rapper’s fascination with underage girls. The lyrics of the song’s first verse read:

“Now she was only sixteen/ I had to nurture that/ Give her some growth/ Waited till I touch the cat/ Told she going have to work if she going get ahead/ Then she drove me berserk when she game me some head,”

Joe Tacopina, Fat Joe’s lawyer, dismissed Dixon’s claims as a “blatant act of retaliation.” In a statement to USA TODAY on June 20, 2025, the lawyer claimed that the former employee was only suing Fat Joe because the latter had sued, accusing him of extortion. He added:

"Law enforcement is aware of the extortionate demand at the heart of this scheme. The allegations against Mr. Cartagena are complete fabrications — lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure."
