The judge in Diddy's trial informs that the jury could begin deliberating soon
On Tuesday, the judge in Diddy's trial said that by next week, he might give the jury the final instructions. These instructions will help them understand the law and think about how the evidence that they have seen in court can be used to reach a verdict.
This week, the court heard testimonies from special agent DeLeassa Penland, who presented digital evidence, flight records, hotel invoices, and credit card statements that linked Combs and his business with the freak-offs that took place in various hotels at different locations.
One of the most recent testimonies also came from Combs' ex-girlfriend, who testified under the pseudonym Jane. She gave a detailed and emotional testimony describing her relationship with Combs and the emotional and sexual abuse she endured.
During the trial, the jury in the court on days 24 and 25 of the trial were shown video clips of the alleged freak-offs that involved Cassie Ventura and the male escorts whom Combs hired.
The prosecution has one more witness left to testify, who is Brendan Paul, a former Syracuse University basketball player and had later worked for Combs. With Brendan's testimony, the prosecution's case will be completed, and the defense said that it will take them two to five trial days to present their case.
This week, as reported by CNN on June 16, 2025, Juror No. 6 was dismissed. citing "lack of candor" as a reason behind his dismissal. The juror, as per reports, gave inconsistent answers about his place of residence. The judge felt that he gave different answers to stay on the panel. The Black juror was then replaced by a White accountant from Westchester County.
Diddy has been held at the pretrial federal custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, since his arrest in September 2024. He is facing five federal charges and has pleaded not guilty to all. However, if convicted, Combs will face life imprisonment.
