Misa Hylton, former partner of Sean Diddy Combs, who shares a son, Justin Combs, with the embattled music mogul, took to Instagram to explain her appearance at the latter’s trial.
Hylton, who dated Diddy in the early 1990s, in her Instagram post shared on May 18, 2025, revealed that she attended Sean Diddy Combs’ sex trafficking trial even with her crutches because her son asked her to.
At the beginning of her post, the 52-year-old American fashion designer assured well-wishers that she was recovering from her leg injury. She added that she chose to take time from healing privately to support her son:
"Yes, I'm good, everyone. I'm on my healing journey. When I suffered my injury, I had chosen to heal privately. But when my son said, 'Mommy, I need you,' I was right there for him, walker and all."
Sean Diddy Combs was arrested on September 16, 2024, and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
His trial began on May 5, 2025, with jury selection, and witness testimony followed on May 13. So far, the prosecution’s star witness, Cassie Ventura, who was Diddy’s on-and-off girlfriend from 2007 to 2018, has made shocking revelations about the music executive, accusing him of rape, forcing her to engage in drug-fueled sexual activities, and stalling her career.
“I’m not concerned with insecure people attempting to project their insecurities onto me. EVER,” Misa Hylton says as she explains her appearance at Sean Diddy Combs' trial
Misa Hylton shared her support for her son in her May 18, 2025, Instagram post, stating that she was his strength and would act as a mother first before anything:
"I'm a MOTHER FIRST, FOR REAL, and I am my son's strength, and that's just what it is. Plain and simple."
She added that she didn’t mind if she was misunderstood for her actions:
"Whoever doesn't understand that just simply isn't in alignment with me or anything that I'm about in life. I'm cool with that. I have a purpose-filled life that I live daily. I make impact. I'm not concerned with insecure people attempting to project their insecurities onto me. EVER."
She encouraged others to “start being real people again” and not let social media rule their lives.
Misa Hylton also motivated those who are temporarily disabled never to be ashamed of their condition:
"To all of my temporarily disabled and disabled people, don't ever be ashamed of your condition or the need to use the medical tools created to assist in your healing or the way you need to move around in this world."
So far, Cassie Ventura, Dawn Richard, a former Bad Boy label signee, Kerry Morgan, Ventura’s former best friend, and David James, Combs's former assistant, have testified in the trial, which continues today, May 20, 2025.
