Country singer Todd Snider has passed away at the age of 59. The musician's label, Aimless Records, broke the news on Saturday via an Instagram post. The cause of the singer's death was not mentioned in the post. However, the demise announcement came a day after Aimless, Inc., informed that the singer was hospitalized after "suffering from an undiagnosed case of walking pneumonia."In the Instagram post shared from Todd Snider's account, his label wrote:"Aimless, Inc. The music label shared that after the singer returned home from the hospital last week, he "began having trouble breathing" and was consequently admitted to the hospital in Hendersonville. Doctors later found out that Todd Snider was suffering from walking pneumonia. The post highlighted that his condition became "more complicated."Todd Snider recently canceled his tour after being hospitalized following a "violent assault"Earlier on November 2, Todd Snider was hospitalized after he sustained injuries following an alleged assault outside his hotel in Salt Lake City. He visited the Holy Cross Hospital for treatment. However, after the singer was discharged, he reportedly yelled at hospital staff and even made some verbal threats.Snider was then arrested on November 3 and was charged with two class B misdemeanors. However, the vocalist was released the same day after he signed for the court appearance. On the same day, Aimless Inc. shared a post on Snider's Instagram account, announcing the cancellation of his tour dates."We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of the High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour dates. Ahead of Todd Snider's show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel... Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes," the post read.The Oregon native started his music career in the 1980s and was mentored by Jerry Jeff Walker. He released his debut album, Songs for the Daily Planet, in 1994. Over the years, he became the face of the alt-country and Americana music genres.
