Maren Morris spoke on the U Up? podcast released on May 9, 2025 and shared her experience after coming out as a bi***ual. Morris publicly identified as bi***ual on June 9, 2024, in a Pride Month post.

In that message, Maren Morris wrote: “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+.”

This step was a big moment after her divorce from Ryan Hurd, which finalized in January 2024. By sharing her label, she said she felt more true to herself.

During the podcast in May 2025, she sat down with hosts Jared and Jordana to discuss her dating life:

“My experience has been really positive.”

In that chat, she explained how her friendships and romances now feel different and sometimes confusing in a good way. Overall, she describes these new dates as honest and meaningful.

She said she was "nervous" before her very first date with a woman.

She wondered, “What the hell does this look like?”

Then she laughed about how it turned into an easy three-hour hang. She explained that once she relaxed, the date felt more like talking to an old friend.

Maren finds it easier to connect with women than with men

Maren noted that she can “connect with a woman, any woman, within like two minutes” and talk about childhood memories. In contrast, she said it might take years to reach that level of honesty with a man.

She added, “We cling together out of vulnerabilities.”

Meaning women share stories to build closeness. This quick bond felt new and comfortable to her.

And because women connect so quickly, Maren said it can be “confusing” to know if it’s romance or just friendship.

“Sometimes I just love a woman and we’re friends, then she gives me a vibe of, like, she’s gonna kiss me...” she explained.

That blur between friend and partner is something she’s still learning about.

Maren has also chosen not to share names or photos of the people she dates. Maren Morris said she wants to focus on how she feels, rather than who she’s with. This choice helps her speak about dating in a way that feels real and relatable. It also respects everyone’s privacy.

Alongside exploring relationships, Maren released her album Dreamsicle on May 9, 2025. She also co-parents her son, Hayes, born in March 2020. In interviews, she says being a mom remains her top focus. Despite a busy schedule, she finds time for honest talks on podcasts and to reflect on her life.
