Popular Twitch streamer HasanAbi has found himself embroiled in an animal abuse controversy. During a recent stream, the streamer was accused of using a shock collar on his dog, Kala, to keep her in the camera shot. The incident sparked public outrage, leading to significant backlash.
The day after, HasanAbi explained to his viewers that he didn't use a shock collar on Kaya; her collar only vibrated.
“This is the one that people are talking about. This is the one that they saw. It has the capacity to vibrate, and that's it. Are you happy? That's it, Good? There’s the airtag, there’s the f*cking vibrator, it also has a flashlight component to it at night time, and it also has a tracker in it when she gets lost, if she were to actually get f*cking lost. It makes a sound, okay?”
He brought Kaya into the frame and continued his explanation.
“There are days when Kaya doesn't wear a collar, there are days when she wears a different collar, okay? This doesn't actually work in the way you think it does, okay? Here, this is the flashlight, and this is when it vibrates,” he demonstrated.
@scubaryan_ on X shared a clip from the stream and captioned it:
‘HasanAbi reveals the collar his dog wears after being accused of using a shock-collar: “it has the capacity to vibrate and that’s it… It also has a flashlight component and tracker.”’
The post quickly garnered several comments as netizens took to the comments section to express their doubts about his explanation.
@omarhustla commented:
“Nah we don't believe him.”
Netizens react to HasanAbi’s explanation
Netizens have shared their opinions about HasanAbi’s recent explanation concerning Kaya and her collar. Most of them believed the streamer was lying and was only trying to do damage control.
@DannyP1333 commented:
“Meaning he lied, he said the dog hit something that's why it barked. Am not shocked. Just disgusted by him and those supporting him.”
@MattyOYT stated:
“If that's true, why didn't he show it yesterday? Why did he lie and say that she 'clipped her nail' on the bed or something? He could have put the rumors down instantly. But now that he's had time to go buy a different collar, he's happy to show it?”
@IronRat39 added:
“It does have the capacity to vibrate and it also has 100 levels of shock. The prongs come off that type of collar. So he just took the prongs off and showed to placate the chat.”
Other X users believed HasanAbi’s explanation. They claimed that netizens were just quick to jump to conclusions.
@GenTu7220 wrote:
“HasanAbi setting the record straight—looks like his dog’s “controversial” collar is just a high-tech gadget, not a shock device. Vibration, flashlight, tracker… all completely harmless. People really need to chill before jumping to conclusions.”
@degreeforex replied:
“Honestly, hearing HasanAbi explain the collar sounds like the kind of stuff people like Trainwreck or Destiny would nitpick forever just to stir the pot. It's a vibrator and flashlight, not some evil shock device. But of course, some folks gotta make drama out of nothing as usual.”
@onlypeterdani added:
“That actually makes sense. People jumped to conclusions way too fast.”
