On September 26, several media outlets reported that Elon Musk and Prince Andrew's names appeared on new files associated with convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to the BBC, these files were released by Congressional Democrats after they were handed over to the House Oversight Committee by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate.
As per reports, the billionaire was reportedly invited to Epstein's island in December 2014. However, the Tesla CEO had earlier denied these allegations. On September 27, Musk blasted such reports and denied his connection with the late financier. He shared a post on X in response to a Sky News report covering the same story. Musk said that although Epstein tried to get in touch, he denied his invitation.
“Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED, yet they name me even before Prince Andrew, who did visit,” the tech billionaire wrote.
"Shame on Sky News for this utterly misleading headline. Anyone pushing this false narrative deserves complete contempt. Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED, yet they name me even before Prince Andrew, who did visit," Musk posted.
Earlier on Friday, Musk reacted to a user's post that shared a screenshot of a Forbes article reporting on the alleged trip of a billionaire to Epstein's island. Referring to the article, Musk replied,
"This is false"
What did the reports say about Elon Musk's connection to Jeffrey Epstein?
Multiple media reports emerged on Friday, after Congressional Democrats released new files related to Jeffrey Epstein. According to the BBC, these files were part of the third batch of documents produced by the late financier's estate. These documents reportedly contain flight logs, phone message logs, financial ledgers, and Jeffrey Epstein's daily schedule.
Elon Musk's name reportedly appeared on the disgraced financier's daily entries. The December 6, 2014, entry read,
"Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)"
This prompted many to link SpaceX's founder to Epstein. However, Musk dismissed his visit to the infamous island.
Apart from Elon Musk, the Duke of York's name was also found in the documents. As per Sky News, Prince Andrew was named as a "listed passenger" on Epstein's jet, which flew from New Jersey to Florida in May 2000. His name was listed alongside Ghislaine Maxwell's name, who is currently in prison for aiding Epstein in his crimes.
Elon Musk raised questions about Epstein's files
The Tesla CEO has advocated for the release of complete Epstein files into the public domain. Following his departure from Trump's administration, Elon Musk reportedly linked President Trump with Jeffrey Epstein. According to a June 5 report by Variety, Musk in his X post, said,
"Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk later added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."
He did not share any evidence in support of this tweet. However, he had multiple times questioned the government over the release of files in his tweets.
In his July 8 post on X, Musk criticized the government and wrote,
"They arrested (and killed) Peanut, but have not even tried to file charges against anyone on the Epstein client list. Government is deeply broken."
On the same day, he made another tweet and wrote,
"How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?"
In August, the Department of Justice released transcripts of Epstein's girlfriend and associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. In her interview, she stated that she never "witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting" and denied the friendship between Epstein and President Trump.
