The Department of Justice released Ghislaine Maxwell's interview transcripts and audio recordings. Ghislaine Maxwell, the partner and close associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after she was found guilty of aiding Epstein in his crimes.
Ghislaine Maxwell's interview was conducted by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's conversations. The 300-page transcript of the interview released on Friday consists of many claims by Maxwell. In the interview, Blanche asked many questions related to President Trump and the late convicted offender Epstein.
Maxwell was granted limited immunity for this interview. However, no other benefits were promised to her.
What did Ghislaine Maxwell say about Trump in the interview?
As per the transcript, Maxwell shared in the interview that she knew the president before she met Epstein, as her father was friendly with Trump. Further in the interview, she said,
“I actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting. I never witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting in any way. The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.”
In another question, Todd Blanche asked about the kind of relationship between the president and Jeffrey Epstein. In her response, Ghislaine Maxwell said that they were not "close friends."
"I think they were friendly, like people are in social settings. I don’t think they were close friends," Maxwell said.
Blanche also asked her if Trump was included in Epstein’s 50th birthday book. In her response, she said that she didn't recall if the president gave any letter or card for Epstein's book.
"There was nothing from President Trump,” Maxwell said.
What did Ghislaine Maxwell say about Epstein?
The Department of Justice asked many questions about the convicted sex offender in this interview. The attorney also asked about the controversial Epstein list and asked if there was any blackmail involved. The convicted aide of the disgraced financier denied any such list.
“Absolutely no. There is no list. There is no – I’m not aware of any blackmail. I never heard that. I never saw it and I never imagined it,” Maxwell added.
Maxwell was arrested in 2020, almost a year after Epstein's death. He died from suicide in his prison cell in 2019 while he was awaiting his trial. In the interview, she was asked if she believed that he took his own life.
“I do not believe he died by suicide, no,” Maxwell stated.
Maxwell, however, added that she did not think that he was killed because he was blackmailing anyone and suggested that he might be killed for any other reason.
Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in mid-2020and was convicted in 2021 in the New York federal court of luring teenage girls to be abused by Epstein. She has been denying the accusations and has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court to overturn her conviction.
