P. Diddy's trial is finally starting with a jury selection on May 5, 2025. Judge Arun Subramanian will be presiding over Sean John Comb's s*x trafficking case, which is expected to take up to eight to 12 weeks to complete. On May 5, Judge Subramanian was reading an extensive list of names and places that were involved in the case and remarked:

"I read through the people and places list, which is several pages long. I felt I was reading an appendix from, like, The Lord of the Rings,” the Judge joked about the length of the list of names.

Judge Subramanian is in charge of the jury selection process, and over 600 potential jurors have filled out the questionnaires. This process will determine who the twelve jurors and six alternates will be. The selection of these individuals will be completed by this week.

P. Diddy arrived in court on May 5, wearing a blue blazer and a head full of grey hair. Previous sketches (since photos and videos in court for Diddy's case were not allowed) showed that Combs' usual black hair has turned grey. While attending the court session, Diddy requested the judge for a toilet break and was denied. However, he was permitted after a second attempt. Diddy had to say:

"I'm sorry, your honor, I'm a little nervous today," the rapper expressed before the judge allowed him a two-minute break.

The selection process included a total of 600 potential jurors who were questioned on their knowledge of A-list celebrities. Some of the names mentioned on the list include Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Mike Myers, Michael B. Jordan, and Diddy's ex-girlfriend, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura.

A few more names that were mentioned during the jury selection list include Lauren London, Harve Pierre, Dawn Richard, Dallas Austin, Laurieann Gibson, and Michelle Williams. It must be noted that the names mentioned may or may not be brought up again during the trial. It is also not confirmed if they would appear in court as witnesses or not.

However, one thing that is for certain is that Combs' former partner, Cassie Ventura, will be appearing in court as a witness using her name. This has been confirmed since last month, April.

Some of the potential jurors mentioned a few people and names that they knew and recognized. These names are Mike Myers, Michael B. Jordan, and Kid Cudi. The jurors believed that their knowledge could add more to the evidence.

Sean John Combs has been incarcerated since September 2024 at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He was imprisoned based on the charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The rapper pleaded not guilty and has been denied bail three times since his imprisonment last year by multiple judges.
