Why was JoJo Siwa hospitalized? Singer performed despite medical emergency, shares health update

On Saturday, singer JoJo Siwa shared a video on TikTok informing that she was hospitalized before her Friday performance. The Dance Moms alum performed her new holiday single at Mall of America on November 28. In her TikTok video, Siwa revealed that for the last couple of days, she had been experiencing a stomach ache.

After experiencing difficulty in breathing, JoJo Siwa was rushed to the hospital. When the ultrasound reports came, it was revealed that a cyst on one of her ovaries had burst and caused bleeding in her stomach.

"I went and got an ultrasound and the ultrasound revealed, long story short, that my one of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach. So that's what was causing the excruciating pain," the singer stated in the video.

However, she was given release from the hospital before the show and performed. In the video shared by Mall of America, JoJo Siwa was seen dancing with full of energy despite her medical condition.

JoJo Siwa detailed what happened before her performance on Friday

JoJo Siwa stated that she had been experiencing stomach pain for the last few days. However, she said that she ignored it, thinking that it was probably due to her menstrual cycle. The Celebrity Big Brother fame added that on Friday morning she experienced difficulty in breathing hours before her show.

"I was like, this is really bad. And also, in my head, I'm like, 'All right, I need these muscles to calm down because I've got to perform, right?' And so, I was like, 'let me hop in the bathtub to see if that kind of calms it down.' And that set it off. All of a sudden, I was like, I have to get out immediately cuz I knew I was going to black out and I felt like I was going to throw up."

The singer revealed that she immediately called her mother. When her mother reached her, Siwa told her that she wasn't able to move. The artist, who was in the bathtub, was unable to put on clothes. JoJo Siwa's mother called 911 and rushed to the hospital.

The singer noted that while she was in the hospital, she was thinking about her performance at Mall of America.

Siwa stated that she would be required to follow up and expressed her concern about her upcoming performances.

"I'm afraid of how this dance is going to affect me cuz I'm going to be dancing, but it's only going to be an hour. We're going to do it. We're going to keep it pushing and if we basically, if I vomit or if I have that excruciating pain burst again, I got to go immediately back in. But we should be okay. Anyways, I just want to say thank you everybody for caring and for the well wishes."

She added that it would probably take a week for her full recovery.

JoJo Siwa recently dropped her new holiday single, Message to the World. She would be conducting a dance studio VIP event for the next few days across US cities.
