Influencer and Twitch streamer Jason Nguyen, popularly known as JasonTheWeen, has reportedly retracted his previous statements in defence of the singer D4vd. For those unversed, the latter has been recently linked to the death of Celeste Rivas, whose body was allegedly found in a car registered in the singer's name.
It was initially reported that Jason had offered support for D4vd on a September 11 livestream (@rapseaviral) and claimed that he "didn't k*** anybody." The streamer had reportedly strongly opposed the idea, arguing that D4vd was on tour. Additionally, he claimed that the singer might be "framed."
However, Jason went on a livestream on September 19 to not only "retract" his statements but also his alleged friendship with D4vd. A clip from the livestream was shared by X user, @FearedBuck. Explaining that there is a "narrative" being "spun on Twitter" and he would want to "retract" his earlier statements.
Jason added,
"Obviously, the other day, I was defending D4vd before all the new evidence came out. I do not condone anything that D4vd has done or is doing. Okay? That s**t is wicked and it's just unbelievable. It's been a lot to process."
JasonTheWeen claims that he is not "close friends" with D4vd following backlash
JasonTheWeen is reportedly drawing boundaries and retracting his previous statements for D4vd. The streamer claimed that he knows a person named "Celeste", but they are not the same as the one who has been "k***d". He added,
"RIP to that girl. But, yeah, condolences to that girl and her family. That s**t is f**king horrific. But, yeah, let's just move on, bro. All right?"
JasonTheWeen went on to claim that he was never "close friends with D4vd." He added,
"I made a song with him. All right? I had dinner with him one time in a group setting, and then motherf**kers saying that I'm best friends with him. No, bro. That's just f**king insane."
JasonTheWeen and David have previously collaborated on the songs, Summer Uptown and What Are You Waiting For? (@d4vdd). While Jason has claimed that he was not close friends with D4vd, their earliest collaborations date back to 2024, including a few joint appearances on livestreams.
The recent investigations have put a spotlight on D4vd's connections with other streamers, including Pokimane. The streamer (@pokimanelol) also took to her X channel and noted,
"i've gotten a lot of messages about the d4vd news & wanted to say i'm as shocked and disturbed as everyone else finding this out :( hoping justice will be served soon. my thoughts & prayers are with the victim's family."
D4vd is reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation by the LAPD. In light of the recent events and ongoing investigation, D4vd has reportedly cancelled his remaining shows on the tour, per USA Today.
